The opening round of the Greek National Championship for 1:10 200mm took place over the weekend at the FRT circuit. Saturday practice saw the Serpent pairing of John Sotiropoulos and Kostas Sidiropoulos set the pace, which they would carry through to Sunday as they secured the top two placings in qualifying with Sotiropoulos taking the TQ. Serpent are reporting on the first round of the Greek National Championship that got underway at the FRT track last weekend and which saw current Champion John Sotiropoulos dominate the event. With a busy few days prior to the event to build the new 08 kits, Saturday’s practice showed that Sotiropoulos had not lost any of his pace over the off season as he set the pace with his new Max powered Serpent. Serpent are reporting that John Sotiropoulos has made the perfect defence of his Greek 1:8 National Championship title winning the final round of the Championship at Arena track to claim the 2007 crown. Driving a Serpent 960, Sotiropoulos TQ’d the event ahead of team-mate Mimis Papadopoulos and in the final Sotiropoulos stormed to victory ahead of 2nd placed Kirikos Anastasiadis racing a Mugen, while Papadopoulos brought his car home 3rd. Serpent are reporting on their site from the 4th round of the Greek 1/8th scale Nationals held at the Fanatix Racing Track, the final round before the summer break. After qualifying it was Sotiropoulos, winner of the opening three rounds, that was in pole position followed by Vagelis Papachristos in 2nd and Mimis Papadopoulos in 3rd. Serpent are reporting on last weekends Greek Nationals which took place for the first time this season at the Patra track. Sotiropoulos, who has won the first 2 rounds of this years Nationals, qualified his Serpent 960 in the second spot for the A Final but it took just a few laps for him to take the lead of the race and cruise home to a 3 lap winning margin ahead of Dimitris Bastas in 2nd and Konstantinos Agrafiotis in 3rd. Serpent are reporting on their teams victory at last weekends round 2 of the Greek 1/8th Nationals. Qualifying his Mega MF powered 960 on pole, round 1 winner, Giannis Sotiropoulos was in full control of proceedings winning the 30 minute encounter from team-mate Mimis Papadopoulos in 2nd with Kyosho driver Leonidas Farmakis in 3rd. Last week we wrote about Greek Serpent driver John Sotiropoulos and the fact that he got his 1/8th scale National title defense off to a good start with a win in the 1st round of the Nationals. Well John was at it again but this time its the first round of the 1/10th 200mm Nationals that took place again at the Arena track and as well as setting the fastest lap of the event, Sotiropoulos brought his Serpent 720 home to a commanding win with Spyros Piknis in 2nd and Dimitris Petroglou in 3rd. Defending Greek National Champion John Sotiropoulos has started this year where he left off last year by taking the win in round 1 of the Greek 1/8th scale Nationals held at the Arena Racing circuit. The Serpent driver topped the timing sheets after qualifying and was able to convert that position into a win in the main final despite a problem in the race that dropped him back a lap on the leader.
