Xray Racing Series Slovakia Rd3 – Report

Round 3 of the Xray Racing Series Slovakia was held last weekend, with off-road and on-road classes being run. As for the on-road portion of the event, it was Xray’s own Martin Hudy who dominated the Touring Modified class, taking the TQ from Oliver Havranek (Xray) after the qualifiers. A1 saw Oliver putting some pressure on Martin in the opening stages, however the latter was able to withstand and to bring home the win as he did in A2, when Oliver had to retire due to catching a corner when he tried to pass Martin. JConcepts 1966 Chevy II Nova V2 body shell

Made for no-prep drag racing is JConcepts’ 1966 Chevy Nova V2 body shell for converted 2WD short course trucks. This 1966 Chevy II Nova shows off an extensive sharp-edged restyle based in part on the Super Nova concept vehicle. In general, proportions are squared up and features including a bold grille and semi-fastback roofline highlight the shape. “Humped” fenders in an angular rear-end were reminiscent of other Chevrolets from the era of style. To bring the Street Eliminator product to market, JConcepts worked together with Chevrolet to incorporate the heritage while also including options to bring out the street racer appeal. The main shell is comprised of a newly created 1-piece design so drivers can more easily fit and finish the beauty of yesteryear. The front-end closure shows off the single headlight style with deep recessed sections along the grille and front bumper to faithfully replicate the original. The rear closure section includes bumper detail, trunk works and vertical taillight cues. In addition, the design team added a sectional rear wing to the project to bring the drag racing inspiration to life. The two-piece rear wing is trunk mounted with a lower support and upper wing with high-speed stabilizing ribs for added performance. Included in each body set, a 1966 Chevy Nova II decal sheet, rear wing option including lower support and upper wing spoiler and the paint mask for all windows. As always, each body set is backed with JConcepts customer support and racing heritage. The Chevy II Nova measures a 12.75” wheelbase and the inside dimensions of the body are 10.75” wide front and 11” rear. The body is built for a 2WD SCT wheelbase length and narrowed to more resemble the original full-scale counterpart. The body comes clear and including a decal sheet with Chevy, Nova, Super Street and JConcepts badges.

Xray unveil X1 2020 formula pan car

Xray have lifted the curtain and official introduce their X1 2020 1/10th scale formula pan car kit. The 2020 version of the IFMAR World Cup winning car features a host of updates such as a redesigned independent rear wing mount that is now lighter, stronger, and more durable all while having less flex, resulting in improved overall aerodynamics. The all-new rear bulkheads were redesigned to work with the new independent wing mount system, allow to lower the diff position by 0.5mm for greater range of ride height adjustment, with the left bulkhead being redesigned to eliminate bending problems in crashes. The car is based on an all-new chassis -that allows to adjust the wheelbase of the front suspension. The chassis features three wheelbase alternatives with a standard wheelbase and +/- 4mm settings. Other new features include a new front stand that reinforces the front part of the chassis, a redesigned top deck supports the new wheelbase settings and a new graphite backstop for the battery better supports cross chassis alignments. Another valuable update is a keyed 1-piece aluminium link mount plate holder that provides a solid base that will not move even during hard kits. Japanese brand Rush have released first images of their forthcoming new rubber tyres for 1/12th scale pan cars. No additional information was provide two images, however using rubber tyres with usually foam tyre equipped 1/12th scale pan cars could lead to a more easy to handle class as the sheer amount of foam compounds available and regular tyre truing scares many people away from this otherwise very fun category. We bring you more information on the project as it becomes available.
