Team Associated soon have the first SC10 RTR Combo kits available. Based on the regular RTR version, the Combo packages also include a genuine Reedy 3000mAh NiMH battery pack, a Tamiya-to-T-type adapter and a wall charger. This means the trucks are now virtually ready-to-run out of the box and only require the addition of 8 AA-size cells for the transmitter. The trucks themselves are untouched and feature the ROAR nationals winning SC10 chassis, multi-terrain tyres on black SC style wheels and pre-finished body shells. Pro-Line have released a couple of sneaky preview images of their upcoming Desert Raid short course body shell. Modelled after the prototype cars run at the Dakar and other endurance rallies, the body is designed for the use with SC trucks such as Pro-Line’s Pro-2, Traxxas’ Slash 2WD and 4×4 and the Team Associated SC10. Available soon from RPM come front A-arms for the Team Associated SC10B, SC10.2 and T4.2FT. The wishbones are designed to replace the original gull-wing style arms with a tougher and more durable solution. Despite being of a straight design the RPM wishbones retain the stock geometry with the shocks sliding through the centre of the A-arm. Jarrod Smith (Associated) took TQ in 4WD Stock but had tough luck in the 2WD qualifiers, Chris Mitchell (Yokomo) taking TQ in that class. In the finals and it was Jarrod who claimed victory in both with the fastest times of the finals. The all aluminium machined and anodised brace is spot on in terms of geometry, fit, finish and position. The tightened design eliminates extra bulk and weight with deep cutouts.
