This past weekend the fourth round of the French 1/8th IC Track Nationals took place at the ARCA16 club in Angoulême in the centre of France. Great weather with temperatures close to 35°C in the shade, and a very fast and demanding track awaited the drivers. In the National class, it was Simon Bergoin with the TQ followed by Faisal Affejee. The Boisset Saint Priest track played host to round 3 of the French 1/8th Elite Buggy Championship over the weekend. TLR’s Renaud Savoya would make the perfect sweep with the overall TQ, pole position after the semi finals and also the overall win, although the main final wasn’t run due to a massive thunderstorm. With the semi results taken to determine the final results it was Team Associated’s Tom Robin on the runner-up spot from HB Racing’s Thomas Musso in 3rd. Round 2 of the French 1/8th On-road Nationals was held at the Neuville-de-Poitou track last weekend. In the Elite class, the qualification was held in difficult conditions as rain influenced all rounds but ultimately it was Anthony Abisset coming out fastest. In the 45-minute A-final it was Romain Delaunay who would hold the upper hand with a progressive tyre strategy, changing tires only one time, to take the win with a margin of only one second in front of Arnaud Mathieu, while Benjamin Brasset who completed the podium one lap down. The third round of this season’s French 1/10th 200mm National Championship was held at the popular Clermont-Ferrand track. The Elite class practice saw Basile Concialdi on top while the qualifiers had Quentin Leroux coming out fastest. In the 45-minute A-main final however it was Xray’s Leo Arnold who excelled as the took the win some five laps on front of Basile Concialdi (Shepherd) as Quentin Leroux (Capricorn) had to settle for 3rd, another two laps down. The 20th Annual Kyosho Masters France was held this past weekend at the Sucy en Brie track, attracting many French Kyosho drivers as well as guest from oversea such as Jared Tebo or Yuichi Kanai. In the premier Elite Nitro Buggy class the fight for the win was on between UK’s Elliott Boots and American guest, Jared Tebo. The latter was able to snatch the pole position after the semifinals, however too many mistakes cost him the win in the entertaining 45-minutes main final that saw many lead changes and that was ultimately won by Elliott Boots.
