Pro-Line have introduced the new Elite body shell for the Team Associated B64 series of 1/10th scale 4WD buggies. The body features an overall low-slung design with sweeping lines throughout giving it an unmistakable look on the track. A cab-forward design with rails extending up the hood and A-pillar provides enhanced steering while a sloped centre fin balances out the rear of the car with great side-bite. Coming from Triton are the new L4 and L5 Pro Spec V2 Elite .21 nitro off-road engines. Both feature a new piston/sleeve design, increasing fuel mileage and providing a more aggressive bottom end power delivery while the carburettor low speed needle and housing design has been changed to provide even easier tuning. On top of this the crankcase has been optimised for power and efficiency by manipulating the internal volume and angles and the crankshaft received a DLC coating for added wear resistance and longevity. Evry in the South of Paris played host to the opening round of the French 200mm National Championship this past weekend. Known for its fast layout and very high traction the track made for exciting races in the fast Elite category that saw a close race with six drivers being able to post lap times in the low 16-second range. The opening round of the French 1/8th Nitro On-road National Championship was held in Marseilles over the weekend. In the Elite category, Romain Picard would take the TQ while in the slightly slower National category it was Georges Saux that came out fastest after the qualifiers. The 45-minute Elite class main final was a pretty entertaining affair with the top 3 drivers, winner Romain Pircard (Mugen), runner-up Jerome Papaconstantinos (Shepherd) and third placed Leo Arnold (Xray) being separated by only 1.7 seconds on the finish line. …weekend happened in the 4WD Modified class as Yokomo’s Ryan Maifield would lead the elite group from the start of the triple A-mains. Using this opportunity to test multiple cars due to the fact that this is a Worlds year, Maifield opted to run the YZ-4 in A1 while he TQ’d the class with a 4WD prototype shaft car. The 2017 JConcepts Indoor Off-Road Championship was held in Rockford, Illinois, at Race ‘Em R/C. This event was highlighted with some of the best drivers in attendance raising the level of competition to elite status.
