Jeremy Kortz wins Milestone SC race

Pro-Line are reporting that they headed out to Milestone MX Park two weeks ago for some Short Course action as Joey Christensen from the Dirt Racing had planned another great event. This was the first time the team would debut the Bow-Fighter SC thread design, which proved to work very well under track conditions. Louis Flood of Evolution Sports TQ’d the stock class using the new Bow-Fighter SC and after an early lead in the main mechanical troubles would put him out of contention for a podium position. The 2WD Open class would see David Orner take TQ all three rounds with Hole Shot SC front and rear, eventually taking second due to a late crash in the main. In the 4WD class, the top three used Pro-Line Hole Shot SC all the way with Jeremy Kortz taking the win on Hole Shot SC, Chad Bradley finishing second and Pro-Line’s own Gerardo Gonzalez taking third.

Tamiya 201 based Short Course truck

To clear up some rumors about the Tamiya 201 based Short Course race truck that have been going around, TRF driver Jimmy Wright decided to give us an update. The car was built using the TRF 201 buggy and has been stretched and widened to make it legal for racing under ROAR guidelines by using mostly Tamiya parts and a few from other manufacturers. The “TS-201SC” was built by Track Star RC in Winchester California to be raced, showcased and used as a test vehicle to draw interest from racers and enthusiasts alike to gauge the market for Tamiya through Track Star / Short Course HQ’s efforts. This is NOT a factory built prototype or pre production truck. However upon speaking to the powers that be at Tamiya USA they are excited about this project and we will continue to race and develop the “TS-201SC” for as long as they wish us to do so. A second test bed truck is currently being built by Track Star in a little bit different configuration and plans to possibly build a third configured truck are also in the works.

Losi Micro SCT 4wd chassis

Losi have released what they claim is the smallest 4wd short course truck on the market. An agile 4WD drivetrain and powerful micro motor hooked up with a rugged chassis, extended suspension travel and oil filled shocks make the Micro SCT a blast to drive on a myriad of different surfaces. Just forget its size, indoors or out it will power its way around or over most obstacles, and getting the power down on any lose or slippery surface will test a drivers ability to control a car under the most difficult of driving conditions. Ready to run straight out of the box all that‘s needed to get up and running is to charge the 220 mAh battery and you’re ready to hit the dirt. That will deliver around five minutes of run time depending on how hard the car is driven and extra batteries are available in various sizes, so track time can be easily maximised. A bottom loaded battery compartment means that changing batteries is a breeze and can be completed without all the hassle of taking off the bodyshell.
