Having teased their new short course truck a while back, Durango have released the first official images of the DESC410R. Central weight distribution and low centre of gravity, even more important with the high bodies of SC trucks, it features a super stiff chassis assembly, big bore shocks, captive CVD’s, optimised gear ratio, 550 motor compatible. Expect it to hit the shops mid December.

A1 Racing club in Gonerby Moor in Lincolnshire are running their Short Course Carnage event on Sunday the 26th of September. This fun event is open to electric 1/10th scale SC trucks only and the race format will consist of 4 or 5 rounds of qualifying followed by 2 leg finals. The race will be run on a shortened version of their 1/8th Astroturf nitro track, with a lap length of 180m, including table tops, double jumps and multi-surface sections. Southern California is the hot-bed for R/C excitement, plush indoor race tracks and camaraderie. OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach has set a new standard in R/C and for many years has held the annual Surf City Classic. Normally reserved for a handful of professionals and locals alike, 2010 provided a new twist with a hefty bonus program that brought out some of the worlds finest racers from the United States. JConcepts racers Ryan Maifield and Steven Hartson continuously ran at the front of the pack all weekend while utilizing the popular JConcepts Bar Codes. TQing the modified Short Course class was too easy for Maifield as the Green compound Bar Codes gripped the track like no other during all 3 qualifiers. In the Short Course A-main, Ryan drove a consistent race on his way to victory, while team mate Tanner Denney running the same combination finished in a respectable 3rd position.

Team Tekin are reporting that their team driver Andy Castellini took three TQ’s and three A Main electric wins at the historic Eastern States Challenge in Vineland, NJ last weekend. Andy ran the Tekin RS PRO’S with the Tekin Vegas 208 software in his Short Course and Mod Trucks, while his motor choice was an 8.5 for his SC10 and a 7.5 for the T4. The RC8 1/8 Scale Buggy was powered by the RX8 and it worked flawlessly. Andy was not only the Top Qualifier in Electric 1/8, but was the only 1/8 Buggy to go 16 laps during the 6 minute heats, including all the nitros.

Pro-Line are reporting on the 1st Annual Golden State SCT Championships Race that was held on August 14-15 at Freedom Park in Camarillo CA. Established in 1974, the Roadrunners R/C Club has been bringing R/C racing to the Ventura County community for decades and is one of the oldest R/C clubs in the world. The track was built by Joey Christiansen and the Dirt Crew and it was a fun, flowing and challenging layout. The race consisted of 2wd and 4wd electric Short Course trucks and had 122 entries. The Modified 4wd SC class was one of the most popular classes and had 4 full heats of California and Nevada’s best SC drivers. Chad Bradley driving the Jammin’ SCRT-10 set the time to beat in qualifying on Saturday, TQing rounds 1 and 2 using Pro-Line’s new M3 Bow-Fighter SC tire and Desert Rat Body. Sunday was set for the triple main events in which Chad won convincingly in the first two main events. Chad used M3 Hole Shot SC tires with Split Six wheels for the main events. Chad sat out the third and final main event having already wrapped up the Modified 4wd SC Title. Lyle Spangler TQ’d and won the ROAR Spec 2wd class driving the HPI Blitz. Lyle used M3 Hole-Shot SC in the rear and M3 Caliber SC front tires and Pro-Line’s Ford F-150 body to take the win in the ROAR Spec 2wd Class.
