Xpress Execute FT1S club-level FWD touring car kit

Xpress have released first images and information of their new club-level Execute FT1S FWD touring car kit. Based off of the recently introduced FT1 competition touring car, the “S” variant will be a more cost-oriented offering, featuring the same geometry as the full-blown race kit, however the use of fibre class chassis and shock tower components as well as moulded composite bulkheads and suspension mounts are keeping costs down. The kit is still very race-worthy though thanks to the addition of front and rear anti-roll bars, threaded aluminium shock absorbers, alloy shock mounts as well as alloy chassis stiffeners. Other features include a front bumper with intogegraded low CG fan mount, 3 degree toe in rear suspension mounts, a ball-raced steering rack, single joint universals, adjustable steering geometry and a rear bulkhead stiffener. All parts are compatible with the FT1, meaning owners can upgrade the FT1S over time if desired. The kit will hit stores very soon.

40th Annual U.S. Indoor Champs – Report

The 40th Annual U.S. Indoor Champs were held in Cleveland, Ohio this past weekend, attracting nearly 400 entries. The Modified Touring class was lighting the track on fire with ballistic fast laps and it was shaping up to be a battle of the local boys vs. the international drivers. The local boys would strike first with Sam Isaacs securing the TQ spot. Second qualifier and current 1/12th Scale World Champion, Alexander Hagberg was poised to not let Issacs run away with the win. With things getting off to clean start, two laps into the race Hagberg would unfortunately clip a curb sending him off the track. A couple of turns later, the field would bunch up allowing Isaacs to build up a huge lead with the rest jockeying for position. Before the end tone, local Drew Ellis worked his way up to the second spot and Canadian Keven Hebert rounded out the top three.

Xray T4’20 alloy & brass rear chassis braces

Xray have announced the release of two rear chassis braces, machined from aluminium or brass, for the all-new T4 2020 mid-motor touring car kit. The T-shaped braces are designed in a way that allows to access a total of four stiffness settings by using variable amounts of screws and shims to attach the brace in longitudinal and transversal directions. While the lightweight aluminium is mainly used to stiffen up either the carbon fibre or aluminium chassis, the 15g brass variant also helps to fine-tune the weight balance with the brass T-brace being of help especially for higher grip track conditions. The braces are available separately and they include all needed screws and shims.
