Picco Boost 5TR Team Spec .21 offroad engine

Picco have announced their Boost 5TR Team Spec .21 offroad engine. This new version of the already proven Picco Boost 5TR has the same incredible reliability, fuel mileage and ease of tuning but now offers even more performance and features at an incredible value. The 5TR Team Spec has a new 14mm balanced and silicone filled crankshaft to improve overall performance, a larger more efficient cooling head, a new crankcase design allows more clearance for different flywheels, a super strong “knife edged” aerodynamic connecting rod, lightened CNC machined piston from high percentage silicone alloy billet and a ceramic “Swiss” made rear bearing tops off the list of all the high end features. The Boost 5TR Team Spec .21 engine is a top of the line racing engine with strong, linear bottom end and incredible top end performance. Cham Dassayanake wins 2WD at SIORC Rd2

The second round of this Winter’s SIORC series at the ERMC club in Geneva, Switzerland took place this past weekend. In the 2WD class Cham Dassayanake (Yokomo) took the win from “old dude” Jean-Marc Betticher (Team C) and Adrien Bertin (Kyosho) who had one of his very few electric off-road outings.

Xray XB4 2.0mm anti-roll bar wire

Xray have a new addition to their existing range of optional anti-roll bars for the XB4 range of buggies available. Latest in the line is a super-thick 2.0mm wire for the front and the rear of the buggy that comes in handy on very high-bite tracks such as carpet and astro turf. The sway bar is cut from heat-treated spring steel and the thickest yet.

LRP 30C 3400mAh hardcase LiPo battery

LRP introduce the new Power Pack 3400 hardcase LiPo battery. Build from 30C cells the battery mimics the dimensions of a NiMH racing pack making it ideal not only for a wide range of RTR vehicles but also nitro starter boxes and many other applications that need “racing pack”-style batteries. The pack comes in a protective hardcase and is pre-wired with a Tamiya-type connector and an EHR balancer port.

Xray Challenge Italy – Announcement

The highly popular Xray Challenge Italy will return to Scandiano on the weekend of the 19th of January 2014. Registration for the race that will see a touring car modified, stock and a 1/12th scale class started yesterday on myrcm.ch. Entries are limited for the race so make sure to register in time.

Marc Rheinard wins 2013 BIRC

The first annual Bangkok International RC Car Championship took place this weekend at the new Huge RC track in the Thailand capital. With a number of top drivers in attendance over the many classes, it was reigning World Champion Jilles Groskamp who took the TQ spot in the modified Touring car class ahead of 3-time Champion Marc Rheinard in 2nd with Nicholas Lee completing the top 3 for Tamiya. With Jilles flying back to the Netherlands on the Sunday for filming duties, Marc would take over the pole position for the A-main and made the most of his starting position by taking A1 and 2 to seal the overall win early. Andy Moore would come through from 5th on the grid to 4th in A2 and to take the win in A3 to claim the runner up spot, while Nicholas Lee would take 3rd overall.
