FTW Racing Components have unveiled the latest addition to its lineup of 1:8 scale bodies, Tactic for JQ’s THE Car. Tactic features a forward-cab configuration for improved handling and the dramatically unconventional styling that defines FTW. The body is sold with window masks and a decal sheet. We can expect more shells for other brands of cars from FTW in the near future.

CRC braces for Gen-Xi, XL, X10 & X10LE

New from CRC is a batch of products designed to make your Gen-Xi, XL, X10 and X10LE more adjustable, rigid, strong and true. CRC has a line of carbon fibre front end braces for both 1:12th and 1:10th Gen-X cars. For the 1:12th car, there are 2 different braces, the wide brace for the short arm and the narrow brace for the long front end arms. In addition to an increase in stability, the brace keeps the front end aligned in big crashes. Finally there is extended rear shock mount top plates for the Gen-Xi. The new Gen-Xi features optional rear shock positions and you can utilize these positions by lengthening the shock. Or these new extended rear top plates can be used to move the rear shock forward in .25 inch and .5 inch increments. Typically, when the rear shock is mounted more forward, more mid and exit steering is achieved. It is a quick simple change that can be done to alter the handling of the car. Sold as a set of 2. With .25 inch and .5 inch movement that matches the hole pattern on the Xi.

Kurzbuch & Volker win HobbyPro Open

Last weekend the annual HobbyPro Open race took place at the TRC track in Hong Kong. More than 100 drivers entered the race with Ronald Völker, Simon Kurzbuch, Jilles Groskamp and Patrick Schäfer representing the Shepherd factory team. Additionally the Shepherd mechanics Armin Weihert and Alex Kempe travelled to Hong Kong offering assistance to every attending driver.

JR Mitch wins Nitro Clash warmup

JR Mitch wins Nitro Clash warmup

Last weekend’s Nitro clash warm up was held in Coral Spring, FL and was a successful test day for all Nitro Racers attending the Clash. In the Pro Buggy A main, JR Mitch driving the Associated RC8.2 took the TQ spot. Mitch was able to checks out early in the race and was able to extend his lead to half a lap over 2nd in the first 10 min of the race. Just when everyone thought the race was over 2nd placed Renato Jr Tradardi slowly caught up to Mitch. When it was time for pit stops, it was all up to the pit men to make the difference.

Huge R/C Products, the brand from former World Champion Surikarn C have released these aluminium stabilizer holder sets for their FF11 FWD chassis kits. Available for the front and rear of the car the holders are designed to be used with the Tamiya FF03 stabilizer set.

KM MTX5 steel diff gear set

New for the Mugen MTX5, KM Racing have released this steel differential gear set. The new gears are much stronger than the plastic diff gears and are also much more durable but are also heavier so its a trade off between weight and strength. The set includes all crown gears for one gear diff, shims for spacing as well as the gear shafts.

Kyosho have announced the release of the new M-size front shock tower for their Inferno MP9 buggy. Designed to suit the European tracks more, it can help to increase the handling of the car over ruts and rocks as well as fast corners depending on the track layout. Made to be used with Kyosho’s M-size length Big Bore shocks the shock tower will increase the possible droop of the front wishbones which adds more options for the setup of the car.

Ryan Lee wins Kyosho Buggy championships

JQ Products continues to do well in Korea with another victory for THE Car in the hand of Ryan Lee at the recent Kyosho Buggy championship at Jungwang offroad circuit. Ryan gave this report. “The track was wet due to rain until 11am, but many drivers helped to clean out water after the rain stopped, so the race could start at noon with a shortened schedule. My car performed a lot better than at the Korean nationals. The new smooth gearing is even better than overdrive with stock gearing, and lighter diff oil set up of 3-5-2 felt very good on entire track. My car was super strong at the very tough Jungwang track. I could finish the 40 minute main final with faster average laptime under bad surface condition compared to Nationals. Another JQ Products driver made the A-main. DJ Park also achieved a good result, having struggled at the beginning but he could manage to move up the order one by one, finally finishing in the runner up spot. Hyungwook Jang driving a Serpent completed the podium.”
