Zacarias Villalba wins Andalusian regional Rd4

The fourth and final round of the Andalusian (Spanish south region) electric 2WD buggy regional series was hosted this past weekend by the Club Deportivo Radio Control Jerez, some 10 minutes from the center of Jerez. This was the inaugural race for the club’s great newly built facilities which hosts three different top notch tracks (offroad, onroad and mini-z). The race saw a record attendance with no less than 57 drivers signing up for the highly anticipate race. Ansmann Racing factory driver, Zacarias Villalba dominated the race with his Viper powered X2TE taking all four rounds of qualifying and all three A-finals. He also set the fastest lap of the race with 25.3 seconds, more than one second faster than anybody else.

Neil Cragg takes victory at Noux Les Mines GP

The Noux Les Mines GP, located in the city of Noux Les Mines some 50 miles south of Calais, France is one of the up and coming events in Europe featuring the fast drivers from France and many drivers from neighboring U.K. Making the drive and ferry ride for Team Associated was Neil Cragg and his freshly built RC8.2 having just completed it the Thursday before the event. Cragg set the fastest time in all three rounds of qualifying and a new lap record however the weather changed for the worse and the finals were rained out causing the organizers to use qualifying order as the final positions. With his dominant qualifying performance, Cragg was awarded the victory in front of new Xray signing Renaud Savoya in 2nd and Elliot Boots, running a Kyosho, in 3rd.

Drake & Moller win at Nitrohouse Open

This past weekend saw the Nitrohouse Open take place at Revelation Raceway attracting 100 entries and consisting of two qualifiers and mains. TLR / Novarossi factory pilot Adam Drake set the pace in both rounds of buggy and truck by being the only driver to turn 10 laps.  In the buggy final Drake was followed closely by Jeremy Kortz and Drew Moller in the opening laps, but Drake ran solid the entire 30 minutes and won the final by more than one lap. In the truck final Drake and Moller had a great race until Drake ran out of fuel. This gave Moller a huge lead and he cruised to victory. Drake came back to finish second and Chris Nunez was third.

Marc Fischer takes German National title

The German outdoor electric touring car nationals were held last weekend at the Megadrom Gelienkirchen. The event saw new Serpent signing Marc Fischer take the TQ spot ahead of reigning ETS Champion Ronald Volker for Yokomo and Hot Bodies race Freddy Sudhoff. In the first A-main leg it was Yokomo’s Yannic Pruemper that took the win ahead of 3 time World Champion Marc Rheinard in 2nd and Volker in 3rd with Fischer failing to finish. In the 2nd leg Fischer bounced back and took the win by 4 seconds from Ronald Volker in 2nd and Rheinard 3rd, Yannic failing to finish, setting up a 3rd leg decider. The final leg would once again go to Fischer, this time by a smaller margin of 2.5 seconds over Volker giving Marc Fischer the overall victory and with it the National title, a first major victory for the new S411 chassis. Ronald Volker would take the runner up spot with Yokomo team mate Yannic Pruemper completing the podium in 3rd. Serpent also took the Hobby class with Majuran Tharmalingam winning and the 40+ title with Andreas Giesa finishing 23rd overall.

iModel in France have announced that French ‘Classic’ chassis manufacturer DXF Racing’s new Speed 8 1/8th scale LMP bodyshell is now available. EFRA homologated (#31520) the shell incorporates some innovated aerodynamics with the front sporting a channeled airway which helps increase front downforce. Suitable for 1/8th gas and electric chassis’.

Elangears has introduced 2 new chargers to their range, the EL-01AD AC/DC auto balance charger and the X2 dual auto balance charger. Externally they look awesome with their matt finish case with yellow/orange highlights as well as easy to read orange backlit 2 line LCD display and both units are controlled by a convenient joystick. Output power from the EL-01AD is 0.1 – 7A max 133W with DC and 0.1 – 7A max 60W on AC while it can also discharge up to 5A. It can accept LiPo & LiIon up to 6S and NiCd cells up to 14S. The X2 is the same specs but features dual units in one case.

HobbyPro Open 2011 - Announcement

Team C Racing have been in contact to promote their HobbyPro Open event that takes place from the 5th to 6th of November at the TRC Track in Hong Kong. This gas event is open to 1/8th on road, 1/10th 200mm and 1/10th 220mm and will once again attract the Shepherd factory team with confirmed entries from Patrick Schaefer, Ronald Volker, Simon Kurzbuch and Jilles Groskamp.
