LMI Racing have announced a deal with current European 200mm Champion Dirk Wischnewski. The deal will see the German company supply the Xray team driver with LMI, Team Titan & 3 Racing parts as well as the new Blitz body shells.

Intech Racing have been in touch to announce their new BR-5 1/8th scale buggy Pro Kit, which they claim offers awesome handling, great steering response, fast cornering speeds and great rough track stability. The new BR-5 features include 16mm big bore threaded shock absorbers, hard-anodized, 7075 aluminium shock towers, 7075 aluminium one-piece top plate, 7075 aluminium radio tray and 7075 aluminium one piece engine mount. Team Associated their new RC18T2, a 1:18 scale RTR electric 4WD off-road truck. The RC18T2 comes loaded with awesome new features including the XP3-SS 3-channel 2.4GHz radio system, a newly designed chassis with a fully enclosed, 2-belt drive train system with adjustable slipper clutch that is capable of handling the extreme amount of power that today’s brushless motors and LiPo batteries can dish out. We were contacted by the new owners of French tire manufacturer DLD Racing, to announced the new change of ownership. With previous owner Jean Francois Mouton looking for an exit for personal reasons, it was DLD team driver Loic Lucide that stepped up and decided to take on this exciting opportunity. Having bought the brand, along with all the 1/8th scale buggy tire molds, the production will remain in France in order to preserve the product quality and they aim to grow the business going forward.

The opening round of the Irish 1:8 Off Road National championship took place last weekend with a 40 strong entry descending on the all astro turf Navan Nitro Nuts track, which plays host to two of the rounds that make up this year’s expanded six round championship. In qualifying it was defending Champion Michael Todd who took top honours with his Losi 8ight over 2008 Champion Mark Harron’s Hot Bodies D8 while Xray’s Barkley Abernethy, winner of the championship finale at NNN last year, secured third on the grid. In the 45-minute final it was a super close racing throughout between Todd and Harron with the latter eventually coming out on top with the pair seperated by just 2.8 seconds at the finish. After terrible luck in qualifying which saw him qualify for the B final, Hobao driver Andrew White bumped up to the A where he put in a great drive to completed the podium. In the Truggy class it was an all Losi podium with Top Qualifier Arron Vance taking the win from Rodger Skelly, while Oisin O’Briain took third.
New from Answer-RC are these red anodised CNC machined 7075 Aero CVD axles for the Xray XB808 that claim to massively reduce rotating mass in the drive train of your vehicle, giving quicker spool up, reduced braking time and sharper handling. The Answer-RC CVD axles have been specially machined with additional CVD pin holes meaning that as the fit becomes sloppy they can simply be rotated round to the next set of holes.
