Travis Amezcua joins Hot Bodies

Travis Amezcua joins Hot Bodies

Neo Buggy have the scoop on top US off road racer Travis Amezcua, who has left his current employers Team Losi, leaving behind him a strong record there. Travis has been on and off the gas off road scene, but his domination of qualifying at last year’s ROAR buggy nats, and performances since, prompted Novarossi to sign him to the US team, made up of Amezcua, Mike Truhe and Phillip Atondo – all Losi drivers. His new role at HPI/Hot Bodies will see him focus on the development of the companies 1/8th and 1/10th scale off road cars, and also assumes the role of US off road team manager.

Team Associated RC8 delayed until August

Associated RC8

According to a brief report from our partners Buggy Sport, the eagerly awaited RC8 buggy from Team Associated has been delayed further and now wont be available until August. Thats pretty sucky for all you people who were waiting on this car and although the delay was predicted by some, it sucks when its confirmed.

UPDATE: Phil, over at partners Neo Buggy, needs a new job as it appears he has too much time on his hands….

In the 4wd class the win went to Tamiya TRF501X driver Evgeniy Fedulov with Losi XXX4 racer Nikita Groznov in 2nd place and Aleksandr Lebedev in 3rd position, driving a Yokomo MR4. 1/10th European B Championships – Day 4

1/10th European B Championships - Day 4

So yesterday (Thursday) was day 4 from the 1/10th European Championships in Roeselare in Belgium and apart from yet another day of practice split into groups, it was also opening ceremony day. We have a few pictures from today and some results which seem to only show the final timed practice heat from today and so we cant get a good overview but if we are taking this final run as a proper test, it would see lady racer Sabrina Lechner for Mugen on top followed by Mirko Morgenstein racing for Serpent in 2nd with 3rd going to Kyosho racer Mark Kriesig. But if we were to look only at individual lap times from the information we can access it would put Erik Dankel from Germany on top with a 15.255 followed by Jerome Renaux (15.267), Alessio Mazzeo (15.294), Walti Beat (15.426) and Stephen Brown (15.433). Qualifying proper starts today (Friday) with 3 rounds, with the final round being run on Saturday morning and all are xpected to be run under sunny conditions.

Alessio Mazzeo & Nick Cuypers – Interview

Alessio Mazzeo & Nick Cuypers - Interview

More interviews from the EC ‘B’ in Roeselare, Belgium, and although this pairing aren’t as attractive as our last pairing, they still make for an interesting interview. Young Italian Alessio Mazzeo has been tearing up the track since he arrived and of course we are all very much aware of what Italian racers can achieve on the track. The second interviewee is Belgian racer Nick Cuypers, a previous Belgian Champion, Nick finished 2nd at this track last weekend when the first round of the Belgian 200mm Nationals took place there.
