JConcepts 1/8th truck Black Jackets & Stackers tires

JConcepts 1/8th truck Black Jackets & Stackers tires

JConcepts have released their Black Jackets and Stackers threads for 1/8th scale truck. The Black Jackets, constructed from very small square pins, provide additional grip on loose conditions with a light amount of dust and debris across the surface. The tread spacing near the outside rows are slightly open allowing maximum flexibility to adhere to smooth and slick surfaces providing a reasonable flex contact patch. The Stacker reveals a heavy center lug design which are supported at the lower base with extra rib features and tiny fillets which provide a heavy forward gripping force. Directional slashes cut into the tread soften the lugs to absorb bumps and also increase the lug flexibility to accommodate loose conditions. The outer rows are a medium to hefty size lug with alternating positioning to drive forward and side-bite while the Stacked rows actively react with one another to lower the overall wear of the tire. The side-lugs are finished off with a hard angle to ease the transition from forward to side-bite while maintaining a linear feel without edginess in the turns.

JConcepts MBX7 Silencer body shell

JConcepts MBX7 Silencer body shell

New from JConcepts comes the Silencer body shell for the Mugen MBX7 buggy. Intended especially for high speed tracks such as the one found at the 2012 IFMAR World Championship in Buenos Aires, the body was designed from the ground up and features a narrowed, Finisher stance cockpit for better fuel tank access, a smoother high-speed transition and increased flow around the engine heat-sink. A deep recess around the heat-sink area with dual channeling out the rear provides air escape along with rear-end stability. The Silencer side-pods have a clipped rear-end, narrowing the rear by angling just in front of the rear tires. The extended runner features are placed on the rear-end of the body enhancing the force placed on the rear pods during high-speed acceleration. The main pods are heavily chamfered and a more heat-shrink design over the pipe, fuel tank and electrical/linkage make up the main pods. The body comes clear, including window masks and decal sheet.
