JConcepts RC10B7.1 | B84 Striker Body

Introducing its latest 1:10 offroad racing body, JConcepts has released the new Striker for both the RC10B7.1 2WD Buggy and B84 4WD Buggy from Team Associated.  Inspired by one of the fastest closed-wheel racing vehicles in the world, the LMP, the standout feature is the wrap-around cab with sunglass style window treatment.  During the 2010’s, Brian Kinwald sported this style window design on some of his off-road race cars and JConcepts used a combination of his inspiration with theirs to form the new pod style cab.  Over the rear-end, a newly built stabilising fin rises in height toward the rear of the shell to provide P2 style and performance characteristics.  The front of the ramping feature blends into a tiny roof scoop reminiscent of the BJ4 Worlds Edition and provides a small finishing touch to the centre section of the body.  The sidepods are the simplest yet from JConcepts, rolling shapes, radius edges with variable blended heights float over trouble spots in the chassis geometry and inner electronic concerns.  Available in standard and lightweight thickness polycarbonate, the rear portion of the 2WD body includes features to cover spur gear shroud while still appearing as an intergraded component into the overall concept.  The rear portion of the 4WD body includes features to cover the rear of the vehicle while still appearing as an intergraded component into the overall concept.

Avid Truss 2.2’’ 4WD Front Slim Wheel

Adding to its Truss 1:10 Offroad wheel line-up, upgrade parts producer Avid Racing Concepts has introduced the Truss 2.2’’ 4WD Front Slim Wheel.  4WD on carpet is notoriously hard to drive so instead of chasing setup tweaks or adjusting your driving style, Avid has taken a different approach. The 4WD Front Slim Wheel runs a 2WD slim front tyre to better balance the car and calm the steering, giving the front end a much more familiar 2WD feel while maintaining the proper offset and width for 4WD.  The result is a buggy that is easier to drive, more predictable, and doesn’t force you to relearn your inputs when switching between classes.  Coming as a pack of 4 wheels, the Truss Slim Wheel is available in the traditional white or yellow options.

Serpent SRX8 Gen4 1:8 Nitro Buggy

Serpent has announced the release of their new SRX8 Gen4 1:8 Nitro Buggy.  Designed by Billy Easton, the Gen4 introduces a newly designed chassis and side pods which by reducing the overall width of the platform lowers the total vehicle weight, while creating a more compact and centralised layout.  This approach results in a near-perfect left-to-right balance, improving consistency and predictability of the vehicle during demanding race conditions.  Serpent say the narrower profile contributes to improved agility and responsiveness on the track, allowing the vehicle to feel more nimble and precise during high-speed cornering and direction changes.   A major engineering advancement of the Serpent SRX8 Gen4 is the completely redesigned centre differential assembly. This new system was developed to address several key areas including serviceability, Differential performance, overall weight distribution, and braking feel. Based on feedback from racers using the previous SRX8 Pro platform, the development team focused on simplifying maintenance while improving the overall functionality and efficiency of the drive-train.  With the Gen4 Serpent introduces the new Geo-Matrix Suspension Geometry System — a precision insert platform designed to deliver unmatched setup flexibility and repeatability.  An all-new suspension bracket platform is designed to deliver reduced weight, increase durability and unmatched setup precision.  Completely redesigned from the ground up, the new brackets feature, 7075-T6 lightweight design and are finished in durable black anodising with distinctive machined silver edges for a premium look and exceptional strength.
