Team Associated B6.1 & B6.1D Team Kit 2WD buggies

After showing pretty much every new detail in yesterday’s teaser images, Team Associated now officially announced the new B6.1 and B6.1D Team Kit 1/10th 2WD buggies. The B6 platform introduced the use of two separate chassis configurations – and the B6.1 continues this theme. The B6.1 will be the choice for tracks with very high traction, where a forward mass is beneficial and chassis roll needs to be tamed through a low centre of gravity and anti-roll bars. The B6.1D now has an all-new Lay Back Stealth transmission that gives the car additional traction when exiting the corners. The addition of +1 Ackermann plates and gull wing suspension arms tune the steering for razor-sharp feel and control. Both cars have new features, including an easy-access differential, diff height adjustability, and an all-new slipper assembly, while the setups and tuning parts remain interchangeable between the two configurations. Both kits are set for a release in March.

Team Associated release new B6.1 teaser image

Following a couple of first teaser images Team Associated have released an even better view on what is understood to be the forthcoming B6.1 1/10th 2WD buggy. The front end is taken over from the previous B6 – and sports an aluminium bulkhead – with the rear end being mostly new, including rear A-arms, uprights and also the gearbox that will feature a “reverse” design with the top shaft having the slipper adjustment nut sitting on the opposite side of the main gear – pretty much a design as it was used on Team Durango’s DEX210 series of vehicles. Also visible is a neat front tower screw and edge protector as it is mandatory on many indoor carpet tracks nowadays. With the curtain now pretty much fallen, we expect the full kit release very soon. Update: In the meantime Team Associated have released more images of the forthcoming buggy. You can see them after the break.

Hudy ball joint wrench

Coming from Hudy is their new ball joint wrench that will ease and speed up camber and steering link building. The small and lightweight tool offers two slots of 10x4mm and 9x5mm respectively, one on the left side and one on the right side, that hold open-design ball cups while inserting the turnbuckle. As the tool does away with the need to use pliers or fingers it ensures both the ball cups and fingers stay free from harm.

Xray XB2 & XT2 graphite composite steering blocks

Xray have introduced new graphite composite steering blocks for the XB2 and XT2 line of off-road buggies and trucks. Moulded from a special composite material that uses graphite to further reinforce the parts, the steering knuckles are harder than the previous “hard” compound for improved rigidity, making them ideal in high to very high grip track conditions where they can improve stability and corner speed.

HB Racing D418 1/10th 4WD buggy – Coming soon

First images and information on HB Racing’s forthcoming D418 1/10th scale 4WD buggy have appeared on the internet, showing a greatly revised platform. The car is based on an all-new aluminium chassis with raised side guards, similar to what can be found on the company’s successful E817 1/8th scale buggy. HB Racing’s trademark monocoque suspension arms are supplied in a harder compound as standard for a more precise handling while the centre bulkhead is now split for easier access to the centre differential. The highly adjustable suspension offers optimised suspension travel and shock length and the kit will be topped off by a JConcepts body shell and wing. No information has be given on a release date but it is understood that the kit is about to hit stores soon.
