Xray XT8 ’17 1/8th scale truggy

Xray have released complete details on their all new XT8 1/8th scale truggy platform. A totally new car from its predecessor the chassis was completely redesigned to allow for updated and all-new weight distribution to improve chassis balance and stability. The major performance & handling improvement of the XT8 is the all-new weight balance that relocates weight to the front. This improves rotation of the truggy, increases cornering speed, improves handling in jumps, and offers more forgiving handling. To enable this an all-new fuel tank was designed and produced to make it super short, allowing placement (and weight) towards the front of the truggy. Every other part of the car has also received some tweaks and updates from the suspension arms, to the drive train, gear diffs, diff bulkheads, shock towers, shock absorbers and more.

RDRP XB4 brass suspension mounts

Coming from Revolution Design Racing Products are new Brass Suspension Mounts for the Xray XB4 series of buggies. Machined from black-coated brass and sporting gold-colour chamfered edges the parts weigh in at 13g (FF/RR) or 15g (FR/RF) respectively and they add valuable weight to the front or rear end of the buggy. Used in the front the added weight makes for an easier to drive car especially in high traction conditions while in the rear the increased weight leads to improved traction on low grip. Used throughout the buggy the increased mass of 56g will make for a more planted ride over ruts and bumps. All mounts are available separately, the utilise Xray’s I.S.S. suspension inserts and they can be used in either combination with the original alloy mounts.

X-Factory Infinity XB2 dirt spec rear tower

X-Factory have introduced their new Infinity dirt spec rear tower for the XB2. Matching the Xray geometry perfectly, X-Factory’s tower is stronger and stiffer, made from 4mm carbon fibre making it also less flexible than the 3.5mm kit tower, all important characteristics in outdoor racing with its larger jumps and higher speeds. Made from U.S. carbon fibre in X Factory’s new Michigan shop, the thicker tower is different from standard in one respect. The kit tower is installed with bolts that thread into the CF, while using the same bolts with the Infinity tower, you must secure it with lock nuts provided with the tower.

LRP X22 electric brushless motor

Following a first introduction LRP have now officially announced the new X22 540-class electric brushless motor. Based off of the long-running and very successful X20 platform the new motor will offer improved performance and efficiency thanks to its redesigned 7075-T6 aluminium motor can with additional cooling openings and a new Dark Shine Black anodising. With overall lower operation temperature the motor will run more powerful for longer which is further helped by the smaller 4x10x4mm ABEC-5 ball races, a precision-balanced sintered rotor as well as the new 14.5 degrees to 34.5 degrees timing range. Part of the package is also a water-proof PreciSensor system for precise power control with every sensored speed controller. The motor meet IFMAR, EFRA, ROAR, FEMCA, JMRCA, BRCA and DMC specifications and it is available in a full range of modified windings from 3.0T to 10.0T, as standard .5 and even .0 windings.

X Factory Infinity 8ight 4.0 CF shock towers

X Factory have announced the latest addition to the Infinity line of upgrade parts in the form of shock towers for the TLR 8ight 4.0. The shock stays match the latest TLR tower geometry precisely, and will fit any TLR 8ight buggy, nitro or electric. Made from U.S.-sourced 5mm carbon fibre the higher tensile strength stiffens the suspension and resists flex and bending while offering a better strength to weight ratio, allowing better performance at the same or less weight.
