LRP 2017 P5-HV Competition Car Line LiPo battery range

LRP have revamped their Competition Car Line range of high-performance LiPo batteries for 2017, adding several 7.6V LiHV packs. The P5-HV technology Graphene cells will offer improved durability when charged to the standard 4.2V per cell but they are good for the use with up to 4.35V charge end voltage, allowing to use them in outlaw racing classes. The new cell technology makes for improved average voltage, lower heat built-up and an increased voltage level towards the end of a run. The range starts with four standard length 2S packs, the 8000mAh TC Stock Spec (25.1mm height/332g), the 6400mAh TC LCG Stock Spec (22.5mm/274g), the 5500mAh TC Ultra LCG (20.0mm/230g) and the 5600mAh TC LCG (22.5mm/268g.

Maverick iON alloy shocks, steering arms & motor mount

HPI Racing have introduced three new Maverick aluminium option parts for the iON line of mini-size vehicles. First up is an aluminium shock absorber set. Machined from high-quality material and featuring an all-alloy construction with the bodies, upper and lower caps all made from the lightweight material, the dampers come in a matte amber gold colour to match with the remainder of the company’s option parts. Also new are the aluminium steering arms for the iON line of vehicles. The amber gold anodised parts are direct replacements and they improve durability and looks. Last but not least comes an aluminium motor mount. It improved heat dissipation and durability while also making for a more precise gear mesh setting. The above parts fit all iON-series vehicles.

Nosram P5-HV 2017 LiHV battery packs

UK Nosram distributors Schumacher have introduced three new P5-HV Lithium-Polymer high-voltage battery packs. Made utilising high-performance cells the 7.6V packs offer a low resistance, less heat build-up under load and thus maximised power until the end of the run. Although of high-voltage specifications the soon BRCA-legal packs offer more power than Nosram’s 2016 packs when charged to the currently legal 8.4V. Available are a 22.3mm tall LCG 6400mAh standard size pack, a 19.5mm high Ultra LCG 5500mAh standard size battery and also a 4200mAh shorty pack that is of “real shorty” dimensions. All use red translucent hardcases with 5mm tube-style connectors and they comply with EFRA, IFMAR, ROAR, JMRCA, BRCA and DMC rules.

Tamiya re-release more former re-releases

Tamiya let the good old times roll with more re-releases of already re-issued 1980’s kits as the Japanese company is set for a, from what is understood, limited and probably JDM-only re-release of the 2008 Boomerang, the 2011 Avante and the Novafox. The kits are meant to hit Japanese stores at the beginning of March but as they are not officially mentioned in Tamiya’s March release list and they are also not on show as re-issued items during this week’s Nuremberg Toy Fair, the “RC Special Items” declared kits may indeed not make an official return. Nevertheless they are soon up for grabs for everyone that wishes to complete his 1980’s icon collection.
