Factory RC YZ-4 CF shock towers & shorty battery brace

Coming from Factory RC and made for Yokomo’s YZ-4 4WD buggy are new carbon fibre shock towers and a shorty battery brace. Starting with the shock towers, available soon is a “flat” front tower as well as a rear item that offers additional shock mounting holes while also allowing to adjust the rear wing height. Both are cut from high-quality 4mm carbon fibre. Also new is a shorty LiPo brace for sideways mounted batteries and designed for the use with Factory RC’s delrin battery stoppers. All parts are available soon.

JQRacing THECar Black Edition 1/8th nitro buggy kit

JQRacing have released first images and information on the forthcoming Black Edition THECar 1/8th nitro buggy kit. Optimised in all aspects, the 2017 variant will feature a new longer wheelbase 3mm Ergal chassis as well as a range of new suspension parts such as crash resistant hinge pins, an updated caster angle, an updated king pin angle, new carbon fibre steering plates, a new 2.0 Ackermann plate with steel bushings, and it the kit will include special laser-etched alloy parts and a new bodyshell. The buggy is available for pre-order soon with the official release date being set for the April 1st.

175RC.com shorty LiPo brass weights

175RC.com have introduced a range of under LiPo weights for shorty battery packs. Made from heavy brass material and coming in four different designs the weights allow not only to up the overall weight of the vehicle but also to simply adjust the weight distribution. Type A is a plain weight available as 18g or 36g variant while Type B, available as 12g and 23g versions, is very versatile. It can be run in 2WD buggies and flipping the plate forth and back allows to adjust the front to rear weight bias while in 4WD buggies it can be used to bring more weight to the inside or outside. The Type C weight, with outer cut outs, makes for a more centralised weight balance while Type D put more weight to the outer sections. The latter two are available as 12g or 23g versions.

PR Racing introduce new 1/10th buggy wheels

PR Racing soon have new 1/10th scale buggy wheels available. They offer a revised design and are available as new 2WD slim front, 2WD regular wide front, 4WD front and general rear rim in white or fluorescent yellow colour, as pair or 4-pair value packs. The wheels fit PR Racing’s line of 2WD and 4WD buggies and also other brand’s cars.

Serpent SDX4 0 degree C-hubs & HD front wing

Serpent have introduced new optional parts for the SDX4 1/10th 4WD buggy in the form of 0 degree C-hubs and a high downforce front wing. Starting with the suspension parts, the castor hubs are machined from 7075-T6 aluminium and they come with a silver finish and laser-etched markings for easy identification. The hubs add stiffness and durability to the front end while allowing to adjust the steering characteristics for specific track conditions. Also new is the high downforce front wing. Designed to be mounted behind the front shock tower the wing will add extra front end downforce when needed. The wing comes made from clear polycarbonate and it will also fit other the buggies of other brands.

Reds Racing R5 Racer 4.0 nitro off-road engine

Reds Racing have introduced the all-new R5 Racer V4.0 nitro off-road engine. The R5R features a new 5-port sleeve and crankshaft timing for improved fuel efficiency and drivability and the sport-level engine also utilises the HCX horizontal carburettor, a tuned, silicone-filled crankshaft, a high-sealing front bearing and a chrome-steel rear ball race. The power plant comes hand-tuned by M. Rossi, it is hand- and compression-checked and suitable for both buggy and truggy racing alike.

JConcepts Strike 3 RC8B3 buggy bodyshell

JConcepts have introduced the Strike 3 bodyshell for the Team Associated RC8B3 buggy. Sampling elements from the Finnisher, Silencer and Striker bodies it packs a slightly refined image. The base enhancements to the design come from the parallel to chassis side-pods, that look traditional with 1/8th buggies of the past. A large rear-end winglet has been added to aid in the rear traction stability as well as stopping force. The offset of the race-proven shell provides a compact fit for the fuel tank, linkage and air filter assembly and the heavy channelling on the front windshield keeps the Strike 3 aligned at high speeds while the sidepods have multiple hard-edge angles that spill off neatly into 90 degree side panels. Just behind the engine head, a sleek up-rising flows from the body like running water and a sharp rise in the rear wicker blocks flow to the rear tower and redirects to the rear wing area. The clear body set includes window templates and a decal sheet.

Team Magic E5-series aluminium steering blocks

HRC Distribution have introduced Team Magic aluminium steering blocks and pivot ball mounts for the E5 and E5HX monster trucks. The parts are machined from 7075 aluminium and available in black or gun metal anodising. The steering blocks are usable on the front and the rear of the truck and their design and material makes for improved durability and impact protection during hard bashing sessions. Made as a complement to the steering blocks are the aluminium pivot ball mounts. A direct fit with the above steering spindles, the parts add durability and visual impact. The steering blocks some in sets of two while the pivot ball mounts are available as 4-piece sets including mounting hardware.
