Pro-Line Transistor front & Electron rear in X2

Pro-Line Transistor front and Electron rear in X2 compound

Pro-Line have introduced a number of new additions to existing ranges of tires for 1/10th scale, the first being the Transistor 2.2” 2wd front in Pro-Line’s long wear X2 (medium) compound. The Transistor tread is the new kid on the block with 1’s and 0’s for tread which provides good, consistent steering and is ideal for outdoor blue groove conditions. The Electron 2.2” rear gets the same treatment with it too available in the long wear X2 compound. The Electron features connected tire tread technology to improve traction and wear on even the most abrasive of outdoor track conditions. The square center pins laid out between the connected tread provide consistent forward and side bite even when the track gets dusty.

Yokomo YZ-4 double joint universal shafts

Yokomo YZ-4 double joint universal shafts

Yokomo has released these new front double joint universal shafts for their YZ-4 buggy. Aimed at use on high grip surfaces that require more steering, higher acceleration and harder braking they are supplied with special bearings, which replace the current inner bearing in the steering block. The new shafts help reduce the friction loss while steering and allow for smoother cornering which in turn reduces lap times.

Schelle B6 Strap X Plate

Schelle B6 Strap X Plate

New from Schelle, the B6 Strap X Plate adapts on top of the popular Schelle B6 carbon battery strap. Using the same 4 attachment screws for the battery stop posts, the X brace creates a stable platform to replace the standard plastic “waterfall” chassis brace with a single tie-rod. A tie-rod style brace has a pivot on each end, instead of the kit part which has only a single pivot. For certain conditions, adding flex in the centre of the chassis can improve both traction and steering through the turns. The general driving feel you’ll have when switching from the plastic waterfall part to a chassis tie-rod is that you will have more rear grip and a less aggressive turn in. Mid corner to exit, the car tends to feel like the rear end rotates and follows the front end through the turn but usually without breaking traction.
