Tamiya to re-release the Bigwig?

Rumours have it that Tamiya will issue a re-release of their iconic The Bigwig 1/10th 4WD buggy early next year. Originally released back in 1986 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tamiya’s RC section, the Takuya Yura designed buggy was probably the first RC car that was created with optimised aerodynamics in mid. It’s “wing-type” body created some stir and even today it is one of the more sought-after vintage Tamiya kits. We bring you more information on the subject as soon as they surface.

T-Works RC8B3 aluminium radio tray posts

T-Works have introduced aluminium radio tray posts for the Team Associated RC8B3 buggy. Machined from high-quality 7075-T6 material and coming black anodised and with silver chamfered edges for looks, the parts add rigidity and visual impact in the radio tray area of AE’s latest 1/8th buggy, with a set containing two posts.

Coming soon from SWorkz is their Fox 4×4 1/10th scale all-wheel drive MiniCage buggy. Known for competition 1/8th and 1/10th kits, SWorkz will now also enter the hobby market with what they call a MiniCage buggy. We bring you more information on the project as soon as they become available.

Hobbywing QuicRun WP Crawler Brushed ESC

Hobbywing have introduced the QuicRun WP Crawler Brushed electronic speed controller for 1/10th and 1/8th scale crawlers. The compact unit features adjustable PWM frequency and advanced DEO/freewheeling technology for a very linear throttle and driving feel. Fine-tuneable settings such as drag brake and brake force allow for improved vehicle control with a total of 15 different parameters being user-adjustable. On top of this the controller is waterproof for go-everywhere capabilities and it sports a powerful 6V/7.4V BEC system. It comes pre-wired with an XT60 input connector and is adjustable using the incorporated set button or the included LED programming box.

Castle Creations sensored brushless motors

Castle Creations have introduced a range of sensored brushless motors. Known for their popular sensorless “basher” motors, Castle now also steps into the highly competitive sensor game with several different sizes of motors. The range starts with the 41.1mm diameter 15xx-series motors such as the 1515 2200kv, 1512 2650kv and 1512 1800kv variant with the 1515 targeting towards 1/8th buggies, truggies and 1/10th monster trucks while the 1512-series is best suited for 1/8th on-road and off-road vehicles as well as 1/10th 4WD SC trucks.

RDRP B6 carbon fibre front bulkhead brace

Revolution Design Racing Products have introduced their new carbon fibre front bulkhead brace that is designed to replace the standard aluminium part on the Team Associated B6 and B6D buggies. Although made for one of the more hidden places of the AE’s sixth generation buggy the brace adds some factory looks and feel while also being highly precise for improved inner hinge pin support.

TLR 22 3.0 Spec-Racer MM 2WD buggy kit

Team Losi Racing have introduced the new TLR 22 3.0 Spec-Racer mid motor 2WD racing buggy kit. Based on the successful TLR 22 3.0, the Spec-Racer kit includes a range of lightweight parts to boost overall performance in the ultra-competitive stock racing classes. The kit utilises a lightened 7075-T6 alloy chassis, a ball diff with aluminium hubs and composite outdrives, aluminium driveshafts with lightened axles, a lightweight motor plate with polycarbonate gear cover, a 3-gear transmission for quicker acceleration and also an ultra-lightweight 0.5mm bodyshell. Also part of package are hate VLA front suspension, aluminium front axles, Gen II 12mm big bore shocks and a transverse battery mounting option. Wit the extensive weight saving work done, with the differential alone sparing about 13g of weight, and an about 30g lighter drivetrain the buggy weights in at under 1500g with a full-size shorty, standard Team Orion electronics and 2.2″ tyres. The kit is set for a release early December.

RC-Aurora mini setup board

Coming from RC-Aurora is a mini setup board for smaller-size RC cars. Made from acrylic material and offering grids for 90mm to 102mm wheelbase and 120mm width settings the board is also easy to carry thanks to its compact 200x250x6mm dimensions.
