Yokomo BD9 touring car – Pre-production prototype images

Yokomo have recently announced the forthcoming release of their all-new BD9 electric touring car and now the Japanese company has released first images of the pre-production car. The makes a first public appearance during this week’s Asian Onroad Championship finale, held at Yokomo’s Yatabe Arena home track. As expected the kit is a near complete redesign, starting with the chassis, bulkheads, the driveline, suspension components, shock towers, shocks and even the servo mount and bumper being completely new. Noticeable updates from the BD8 series car include ball-raced anti-roll bars, new-design upper bulkhead caps and camber link plates, reshaped A-arms, and the drivetrain now again sandwiches the spur gear. Full information will become available in time for the release that is scheduled for this Fall. Update: In the meantime more images became available, highlighting some of the car’s design features.

Capricorn LAB C8SR rear ride height adjusters

Coming from Capricorn and made for their LAB C8SR 1/8th electric pan car are ride height adjuster shims. The metal spacers are 0.5mm thick and they allow for a more precise adjustment of the ground clearance when using different tyre diameters.

ZooRacing ZooZilla 190mm touring car body shell

RC-KleinKram from Germany have announced their new ZooRacing performance body shell brand ZooRacing. The first body to hit stores is the ZooZilla 190mm touring car body shell. Developed to produce medium overall downforce with lots of steering and great rear end stability the all-round body is the ideal choice for both carpet and outdoor tracks. The shell sports a couple of aero features such as a steep front end for on-the-point steering precision while the recessed roof section channels the airflow towards the rear wing for exceptional rear end stability at both low and high speeds. Angled vortex generators, placed strategically above the rear window, are a first-ever for an electric touring car body, and they help to smooth the airflow over the rear window, trunk and rear wing for greatly improved aerodynamic efficiency, lower drag and more predictable rear downforce.

Reflex Racing introduce new TC7.2 optionals

Reflex Racing have introduced new optional parts for the Team Associated TC7.2 touring car. First up is the RSD bumper brace and bumper brace stop. It helps protect the carbon fibre from de-laminating and aluminium chassis from bending in frontal collisions. The set works with the stock AE foam bumper and it is a direct fit.

Coming from Capricorn and made for the LAB C03 car is the Full Flex System radio plate. Cut from high-quality carbon fibre the radio plate allows to access various flex settings including a rear flex setting with metal bushings or optional plastic composite inserts.

Buri-Racer tease new E2.1 & E1.3 kits

Austrian company Buri-Racer, spearhead of the growing 1/8th electric on-road stock class, has released first images of their forthcoming E2.1 and E1.3 kits. Starting with the E2.1, the car offers a new layout and several updates compared to the previous E1.2. Basically a full redesign the car utilises a new centre belt layout with the motor siting in a new location, mounted to a separate motor mount that makes for a more central motor position. Also new are the rear pod side plates that allow for a wider range of ride height settings compared to the E1.2. The system works without shims and it’s patent pending. Also new is the front end with three different ride height settings and quick camber adjustment feature.

Arena RC T4 aluminium ball bearing hub

Arena RC have introduced their new 4-piece set of aluminium ball bearings hubs for the Xray T4 series of cars. The parts are machined from high-quality aluminium and replace the standard composite items for an improved ball bearing seat and less stress on the ball races, resulting in a more free spinning drivetrain. The parts come in orange anodising to match the remainder of the car’s alloy parts and the ball bearings in above image are not included.
