Serpent Viper 977 Evo-2 1/8th scale nitro on-road kit

Serpent Viper 977 Evo-2 1/8th scale kit

Serpent have introduced the latest incarnation of their popular Viper 977 1/8th nitro on-road kit, the Evo-2. The vehicle is an evolution rather than a revolution with the focus set on refined details such as the revised rear suspension to obtain more steering and overall traction. The rear lower pivot pins now sit closer together to create overall longer A-arms thanks to longer pivot balls and upper links. Also included are new big bore shock absorbers taken over from the 411 4.0 and 748-WE kits. The short shocks feature new machined pistons, a new seal package as well as machined spacers and coated aluminium parts along hardened steel piston rods. The rear shocks also feature longer shafts for improved traction. The key features of the 977 remain the same though as are the 2-speed Xli gearbox, fine-pitch gears, ball-raced front and rear anti-roll bars and the aluminium mid-flex system with bearings to name just a few. The 977 Evo-2 will hit the stores by mid-September.

BMT 701 Nickel-plated clutch bell & yellow clutch shoe

BMT 701 Nickel-plated clutch bell & yellow clutch shoe

Italian company BMT have introduced new optional parts for their 701 1/10th scale 200mm nitro on-road kit. First up is a Nickel-plated aluminium clutch bell. Scrubbing a good amount of weight, with the original steel part weighing in at 10g and the alloy part being 6g lighter, using the part makes for reduced rotational mass which equals faster acceleration and thus improved on-track performance. Also new is the yellow colour high-grip clutch shoe. The part makes for a more crisp clutch engagement.

Serpent 748 brass suspension bracket & alloy CVDs

Serpent 748 brass suspension bracket & alloy CVDs

Serpent have introduced new optional parts for the Natrix 748 1/10th nitro touring car in the form of a brass front suspension bracket and lightweight aluminium driveshaft parts. Starting with the front suspension bracket, the part is machined from heavy brass material to add weight up front and very low in the cars which helps to counter traction rolling in high-bite track conditions. 29g heavier than the standard alloy bracket the brass part is best combined with the sliding brass chassis weights and it is a direct fit on the 748.
