Tiverton Nationals report by oOple

Last weekend saw the first round of the 2007 Electric off road nationals held at the Heazel Arena, Tivertons indoor racing venue. Jimmy and Vicky were there, racing, snapping photos and taking notes and they now have their race report online. Lots of great pictures will be online soon but in the meantime you can read about the event in which Darren Bloomfield took the win in 2wd and Lee Martin took the 4wd victory.

Christoffer Svensson signs to Medial Pro

Our site partners Neo Buggy are reporting that young Swedish star Christoffer Svensson has been snapped up by French tyre company Medial Pro and for the 2007 season Christoffer will run Medial Pro’s updated range of tyres, rims and products. This marks a resurrgence in the Medial Pro brand with two of Sweden’s top drivers now using their rubber, Robert Gustafssen having joined last week. Just this weekend both drivers were at the XRAY Challenge in Denmark, with Robert winning the event, and Christoffer putting in a strong round 5 qualifying TQ followed by a good run in the final before he retired with technical problems.

2007 Australian EP10 Off road Nationals

Gustafsson wins Nordic Xray Challenge

This weekend saw the Nordic Xray Challenge run on the newly renewed HillerÃ¶d track in Denmark. The event which was open to all makes of cars attracted a large entry with drivers from many different countries making their way to the event, which thankfully took place under sunny skys. British driver Jon Hazlewood was the man setting the pace in qualifying but in the main final it was Xray driver Robert Gustafsson of Sweden that took the win with Hazlewood, also racing for Xray, in 2nd, while 3rd place went to Lars Alex Jensen driving for Kyosho.

Neo Buggy have uploaded two videos from last weekends Pro Line Indoor Challenge in which German driver Joern Neumann took the win for Thunder Tiger. The video above shows the battle between early race leader Scott Hughes and Joern Neumann while the video below shows the very start of the main final.

Axe Rossi may bring Gomez to court?

Our site partners, Neo Buggy, have today brought to our attention the news that Axe Rossi may bring Richi Gomez to court over breach of contract. As we wrote before on our site, Richi, who had signed for Axe Rossi at the start of the year in a high profile team launch, was spotted only 2 months later at the Silverstate race running an RB motor and again at the first round of the Spanish Nationals (above) earlier this month. Neo Buggy cite disagreements between both parties prior to the Silverstate event as the reason for the split. Richi had signed to race RB motors only 4 months before signing for Axe Rossi and is quickly building himself a reputation as being unreliable to sponsors.

Ari Bakla wins 2007 Australian Nationals

Team Orion have issued a release about their team driver Ari Bakla capturing the 2007 Australian National Titles, that took place this past weekend. The event attracted nearly 200 entrants and the competition down under was exceptional. In a dominating display of driving, Bakla finished qualifying on the top of the time sheets in both modified classes and then went on to take advantage of his front row starts to claim the double victory.

Mark Remken wins Rd2 of SA RC Pro Series

Rd2 of SA RC Pro Series

A while ago we announced on our site the creation of the South African RC Pro Series, and even prior to that announcement the first round of that championships was won in which Jonathon Ment won the buggy class and Carl Hein Fommann won the truggy. Just over a week ago was round 2 of this series and it took place at Avion Raceway in Kempton Park South Africa and 70 racers were in attendance. Below is a report from the organisers from this event.
