Mibosport Cup Rd5 – Report

Last weekend’s round 5 of the 2018/19 Mibosport Cup not only saw the running of several electric off-road classes but also attracted a bunch of on-road racers to come out and compete. The record entry meant controlled practice had to cut short to allow for a reasonable ending of the day. Following the free and controlled practice on Friday things got serious on Saturday. In the Touring Modified class full things went up and down for the drivers with the challenging track layout meaning things mixed up quite a bit throughout the day. However, the top of the field remained the same as Zdenko Kunak secured the TQ position and brought home a deserved win. Oliver Havranek managed to stay in Zdenko’s slipstream to finish 2nd. Right behind him it was Jakub Rozycki from a storming Andreas Stiebler and Matej Sulc.

20th Annual Dirt Nitro Challenge – Report

There are not many RC races that are bigger, do it better, and have the intensity like The Dirt Nitro Challenge. This year was special as it marked the 20th Annual of the biggest nitro race on US soil and this year didn’t disappoint. Almost every manufacturer sent drivers to this race making the atmosphere very much like a Worlds competition with numerous drivers traveling from all across Europe to join in on the action. This year, it was offered a little bit of everything. From freezing cold temps, high winds, rain delays, and eventually sunshine, mother nature played a dramatic part, but this is nothing new for an outdoor race. What was different this year was the location and venue as the DNC was relocated after news broke last year that Fear Farm was shutting down. Now, located at the Perris, California’s Southern California Fair Grounds, there’s a new look to the DNC but still consisted of the same awesome racing vibes that its well known for.
