The opening round of the French 1/8th E-buggy nationals was held at the indoor facility in Reims this past weekend. HB Racing’s Thomas Musso would come out successful after the A-main from Xray’s Jean-Pierrick Sartel in second and TLR’s Jerome Sartel in third. Vincent Meertens (TLR) and Stephane Deroch (Mugen) would round out the top 5 result.
Round six of the Israeli League was held at the Ein-Vered racing track in good weather conditions after weeks of rain. The day started with a wet track but over time it even became blue grooved with high traction. After four rounds of qualifying Yaniv Sivan took the overall TQ and after a clean start into the final he swiftly opened a gap while Ido Carmon held the second spot from Ofer Avitan, Gil Harush, who came from the 9th spot on the grid, and Aviv Maymon, who all battled for third. Around half time Ofir managed to get into third place, starting to chase on Ido Carmon. A few minutes before the end, Ido made a few mistakes which promoted Ofir into second while up front Yaniv brought home a win from Ofir and Ido.
The 7th annual 2017 MRCC Challenge was held this past weekend at the Medan Radio Control Community track in Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia. A total of 22 drivers from Jakarta, Bandung, Solo, Kendari as well as local drivers attended the event that saw six rounds of 10-minute qualifying with the four best rounds to count. Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) would take the TQ after the qualifiers and he also came out on top after the 60-minutes A-main event, taking the day’s win from Stanley Wangsanegara (HB Racing/O.S.) and Adrian Wicaksono (HB Racing/Reds Racing) in second and third respectively.
Bezerk RC have introduced a range of carbon fibre option parts for Team Associated’s all-new B64 1/10th 4WD off-road buggy. First up is a carbon battery strap made from 2.5mm material and pocketed to reduce weight, making it lighter than the plastic one it replaces. Also new are remodelled shock towers in two thicknesses, featuring the standard geometry. Next up are Ackermann plates in varying angles from standard to three degrees while Bezerk RC’s servo brace has been simplified to clean up the appearance by removing the mostly unneeded aerial holder.
Maclan Racing have announced the signing of multi BRCA National winner and European A-finalist, Kev Lee to their UK team. With 25 years of race experience, and as a regular top 10 finisher, Kev is a valuable asset to the team that he will be representing at the Mid West Regionals, Nationals, and the European Championships in Italy.

LRP have announced the signing of Spanish up and coming driver, Dani Batlle. Brother of record national and former IFMAR World Champion, Robert Batlle, Dani will use LRP electronics in his upcoming 1/8th nitro and electric campaign and he has the following to say about the deal:

After winner three of the four rounds of the recently concluded Cyprus LRCC Championship, held solely in Limassol, Andreas Thrasyvoulou took the overall title. The Agama duo of Andeas Theodotou and Marios Christodoulou came in second and third respectively while Andreas Sykas (Agama) and Simos Tikkis (Mugen) completed the top 5 result.

HB Racing have announced the addition of 2010 IFMAR 1/8 Nitro Buggy World Champion, Cody King to their team. The former long-time Kyosho driver was linked to HB Racing for some time now but it took until the week of the 2017 The Dirt Nitro Challenge to officially announce the deal. Cody has the following to say:
It’s exciting to join the HB Racing team, and be reunited with Philippe Neidhart, Adrien Bertin, and David Ronnefalk. Clearly the platform has potential after winning 3 of the last 5 Worlds, including the last 2 in a row. The Team Orion engines have only improved over the last few years, and I won the Pattaya Worlds with Team Orion power. It feels like a fresh start with a great team, and I’m looking forward to 2017 and beyond.
