Marc Rheinard joins Arrowmax

Arrowmax have announced the signing of 3-times IFMAR ISTC World Champion and multi-time Europe Champion, Marc Rheinard to their factory racing team. Marc will be using the Arrowmax range of products and professional tools at races such as the up coming ISTC at Beijing, China, and all other major events including the European Championships and the ETS races. The German has the following to say about the deal:


I would like to thank Team Arrowmax for supporting me with their professional tools and setup systems! [I am] looking forward to use the great products from now on which also makes my pit look even better!

Adam Drake successful at Novarossi Challenge

Last weekend Barnstormers R/C Raceway hosted the annual Novarossi Challenge. Also know as the Big Apple Challenge, the event hosted the best drivers from the east coast as well as Adam Drake, Ryan Lutz, and Cole Ogden. Adam Drake won his 20-minute buggy semi final and started on pole for the 45 minute final. Drake controlled the race from start to finish after a battle early with Mugen Seiki teammate Cole Ogden. In the end, Drake took the victory by over a lap.

Joe Tramontana wins E-Truggy at Novarossi Challenge

The 2016 Novarossi Challenge was held this past weekend in Chester, New York. The annual event was held in several classes and attracted both local talent and national front runners. In 1/8th E-Truggy, the double 8-minute A-mains saw Joe Tramontana coming out in front after David Hemmenway won A1 and Joe took the win in A2 after David suffered an unfortunate racing incident. David Hemmenway would finish on the overall runner-up spot though while Ryan Fields completed the top 3 result.

Belgian SCT Cup Rd3 – Report

Round three of the Belgian SCT Cup was held at the Buggy Racing Tournai club and on an unanimously praised new layout. Unfortunately, like last year in May, the weather had different plans for the weekend. Massive rain during the week before the race meant the club members had to work hard in order to prep the track and the surroundings and it was even possible to start the race on Sunday but more heavy rainfall around noon left the organisers with no choice but to cancel the event. Thankfully the qualifiers were done at that point and therefore the qualifying ranking was used to determine the final ranking.

Kobbevik wins 4WD title at Swedish Off-road Champs

Last weekend’s Swedish Electric Off-road Championships saw Yokomo driver Daniel Kobbevik taking control of the proceedings in the 4WD class. Putting some two seconds on the second placed driver in the best three consecutive laps Daniel was also the only one to break into the 23 seconds barrier when it came to the fastest single lap. The track was pretty beaten up from the 2WD portion of the event and it looked like the conditions would be pretty changeable during the day.

Boots retains Euro title as rivals crumble in the heat

Elliott Boots has successfully defended his 1:8 Offroad European Championship title.  Racing under the beating Spanish sun, the 45-minute final would take a dramatic turn with just 7-minute to go as David Ronnefalk and Robert Batlle looked set to duel it out for the win.  Having just relinquished the lead to Ronnefalk, Battle would suddenly slow but before the gasping onlookers could get their breath back Ronnefalk would also come to a stop.  With both drivers suffering from overheating throttle servos, it was Top Qualifier Boots who was there to pick up the pieces, the British driver having made a somewhat slow start to the race.  With the demise of both Ronnefalk and Battle, the attention of the race was on who would make up the rest of the podium, former champion Yannick Aigoin as surprised as anyone to finish runner-up for Xray ahead of an equally happy Neil Cragg, the Associated driver describing it as the ‘best 45-minute final I’ve ever had’.

Kostas Katsadonis wins RCriver Summer Cup

The recent RCriver Summer Cup was held in Amaliada, Greece with drivers from Athens, Amaliada, Agrinio, Corfu/Kerkyra and Aigio in attendance. Xray driver Kostas Katsadonis would bring home the win from Tekno’s Ilias Arkoudaris and Kyosho driver Giannis Papanikolaou. Harris Katsadonis (Xray) and Basilis Stathopoulos (Kyosho) would round out the top 5.
