2nd Annual SWorkz Challenge – Announcement

AMain.com’s world-famous Silver Dollar R/C Raceway will host the Second Annual SWorkz Challenge presented by JConcepts on May 29th to 31st. The race will also serve as the ROAR Nationals Warm-Up Race so you can expect to see the nation’s top nitro off-road racers as they prepare and test for the coveted nationals. The race will see Pro, Open, Electric and 40+ 1/8th scale classes with the Open class racers won’t want to miss the SWorkz Challenge sponsorship opportunity as there will be a sponsorship deal with SWorkz, JConcepts, ProTek R/C and Airtronic. Combined with a best trick contest, TQ’s “$100 Dash For Cash” for all class TQs and Chico’s finest food trucks serving tasty grub, the SWorkz Challenge is sure to be a huge event in late May. Euro Contest 2015 – Announcement

Bittydesign officially announce the 2015 Euro Contest, held at the Barco-Off racetrack in Italy from June 5th to 7th. Situated around an hour’s drive from the Bologna airport the track offers a unique “US style” layout that will receive some big changes for the 2015 race. Entries for the 3-day event are limited to 192 drivers with Friday seeing free practice, qualifying on Saturday and the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) followed by the Superpole and Finals on Sunday. The race is held in Nitro Pro and Open Buggy classes as well as an 1/8th E-Buggy category. More information and registration is available here.

Lorenzo Crolla continues with FX

FX have announced the contract renewal with young and talented Lorenzo Crolla for the 2015 season. The French front runner will use the FX engines during his off-road campaign that will include the EFRA Euros, the French nationals, the NEO Race and more. Lorenzo had the following to say:

I have raced the FX engines during the entire 2014 season and being satisfied with the performance and reliability there is no other consideration than to continue with FX for 2015 as well. I will race all the major nitro off-road races in France as well international races including European Championship, EFRA GPs and NEO race. I am looking forward the 2015 season with my FX engine.

Billy Fischer teams up with Tekno RC

With industry veteran Billy Fischer Tekno RC announce the latest addition to their team. Billy is well known around the world for his speed, setup knowledge, and willingness to help others off the track. He is already up to speed and will debut his new ride at the upcoming Silver State Nitro Challenge. Billy had this to say:

I’m really excited to join the Tekno team! I’d like to thank Daniel Lewis and Matt Wolter for the opportunity, and Casey Peck for initiating this relationship. JQ wins at Silver State warm-up race

JQ wins at Silver State warm-up race

Last weekend the Silver State warm-up race was held in Las Vegas. Local track record holder Kyle Johnson TQ’d over JQ Racing’s Joseph Quagraine after two rounds of qualifying. The A-main was 25 minutes long, and after a fun race on a true offroad track, bumpy and difficult, JQ took the win with former World Champion Greg Degani (JQ Racing) finishing 2nd at one of his first outings after coming out of retirement. Track owner Chris Tocco got 3rd with his Kyosho to complete the podium.

Cactus Classic sees 4 different winners in Mod classes

The 2015 edition of the prestigious Cactus Classic was held this past weekend at SRS Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. The five 1/10th Modified classes saw four different winners with Ty Tessmann coming out successful in the 2WD Modified Buggy class racing a prototype HB 2WD buggy. Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri came in 2nd while Yokomo’s Lee Martin rounded out the podium.
