Bruno Heremans wins Liege GP

Bruno Heremans wins Liege GP

The track at Liege, Belgium, is well known for its great clay surface, giant size, and awesome layouts, and the MRCL club did not disappoint for this year’s edition of the annual GP last weekend. The day started out chilly, then warmed up with just one brief shower mid-way through the program to hold down the dust. X-Factory team driver Bruno ‘Elvo’ Heremans was there bright and early with his brand new X-6 Cubed prototype for some early practice and it paid off. Elvo TQ’d every round of qualifying and ran away with all three legs of the A Main, setting fastest lap in every race. Martin Vierin took second with an X-6 Squared.

Collin & Wallace win SORC Rd1

Last weekend saw the start of the Scottish Off Road Championship hosted by Dunfermline District Radio Car Club.  Round 1 of qualifying was a bit of a wet affair with Chris Mitchell setting TQ pace in 2wd and Kenny Clark setting the fastest time in 4wd. The lap times tumbled as the track dried out through the rest of qualifying, the early pacesetter of Chris Mitchell took TQ in 2wd and Kenny Clark managed to secure overall TQ for 4wd. Chris Mitchell the 2wd pole man was unable to convert his early pace in the finals it was the Schumacher SV2 driven by James Collins that took the win of all three legs of the 2wd A finals. Last week end a RedBull GP was held at a Hobby Expo in Moscow Russia. There were over 200 entries all together in a race that covered all the electric offroad classes. This was the debut of the production JQ Electric 1:8th Buggy. There were three JQeCars at the event, and all three made the main, JQ, Dmitry Malyshko and Timo Jalas. The racetrack threw some curve balls to certain drivers with two jumps that crossed over the diagonal main straight. Tricky to jump, and marshall. Kobbevik & Erik Mo win at JConcepts Challenge final

Kobbevik & Erik Mo win at JConcepts Challenge final

Mustit RC Raceway played host to the JConcepts Challenge final event last weekend and it was the biggest so far this year, and a good ending for the winter with a new record in the Short Course 4×4 class 38 cars taking part. The 4wd buggy event saw many hard fights and the fight between Lars Erik Mo and Daniel Kobbevik was tense, they were so much faster than rest off the field, switching possisions all the time. In most of the races it has been Lars Erik Mo winning A-main 1, Daniel A-main 2 and then again Lars Erik taking A-main 3. This time the same happened and final 3 was open, Daniel was actually leading until the last round. Lars Erik pushed his Kyosho all he could and was like 10cm behind all the time and it looked like this time it could be a change, but a pin from the center cvd in the B44.2 came out and 40 meters from the finish line the car stopped. So Lars Erik took the win this time also. Lars Erik has been the most winning driver in 4wd this winter.
