Simon Moss wins final BRCA 2WD round

The final round of the BRCA 2WD nationals took place at the Kidderminster track and it was Schumacher team driver Simon Moss who took TQ in rounds 1 and 3 by some three seconds over his closed rival. During round 4 of qualifying the weather took a turn for the worst and the track became totally flooded with no chance of a resumption in the racing. This meant that Simon, who had taken the overall TQ would win the meeting as the qualifying results would be carried over into the finals.

The A final saw Ron Mamers and Rainer Ressar pulling away from the rest of the field with Rainer taking the lead after a mistake of Ron. He then never looked back and was able to win the race one lap ahead of Jörg Miikael Tiit and Rob Mamers.

Pro-Line 2012 Challenge – Report

The Pro-Line 2012 Challenge took place at the HNMC track and offered three days of racing with international drivers, a new track layout with option section, a junior race and mechanics race, 138 nitro buggies, 11 nitro truggies and 12 E-buggies. The club had taken this race on short notice so the organization for the event was a bit rushed, the HNMC team did the best they could and put their effort into building the best track yet. The weather for the event did not look good the week of the event but luckily only the Saturday would suffer with heavy showers thunder and lightning with qualifying being scrapped. Practice rounds were TQ’d by Elliot Boots and Tony Truman with Ryan Cavalieri and Joseph Quagraine finding there rhythm round the track. On Sunday drivers were greeted by a damp track that was drying nicely offering perfect conditions. Nitro buggy saw Elliot Booth and Ryan Cavalieri battling for the top position while the truggy class saw  Jon Hazlewood in front followed by Callum Niblett and Jon Howells. In E-buggy again Jon Hazlewood took the top spot followed by Craig Drescher and Mike Cradock. In the final Jon was not able to conserve his form with Elliot Booth taking the top podium spot followed by Craig Drescher and Karl Jackson.

Jörn Neumann takes German 4WD & SCT title

Last weekend the German Nationals 4WD and Pro4 Short Course were held in Dortmund. JConcepts team driver Jörn Neumann raced in both classes. The track was clay with astroturf over the jumps and well prepared from the club. On Saturday, three rounds of controlled practice and three rounds of qualifying for every driver. Jörn tried a few different set-ups on his cars and noted that his cars worked great from the beginning. Unfortunately the weather forecast for Sunday was really bad, and it rained a lot, just small breaks without rainshowers. Round 4 of qualifying started with Short Course. After that 7 minute drive Jörn’s Short Course was about 500g heavier. The organizers decided to cancel qualifying round 5 and go straight to the finals. The finals got underway under extremly wet/muddy conditions. Jörn had good runs and was able to win A1 and A2 in both classes. Giving him two more National Championships.
