Mike Truhe confirmed for EOS Rd1

The opening race of the Euro Offroad Series (February 10th to 12th) in the Czech Republic is shaping up to be a great event with the organisers confirming that former ROAR national Champion Mike Truhe will be making the trip over from the US to compete in the event. The TLR driver will join other top drivers from around Europe to compete for the win in the first race of this exciting electric offroad series. Ben Sterling joins Xray Australia

Ben Sterling, one of Australia’s top 1/10 off-road racers, has joined Xray Australia. Ben will race both 1/8 nitro and electric-powered Xray cars as well as provide technical and set-up support to all Xray drivers. He had this to say:

I am glad to be apart of Team Xray Australia for the 2012 season but first I would like to thank Kyosho and Dawn Trading for all their support in the past years. It will be a new experience and learning curve running 1/8 offroad for 2012 but I am looking forward to the challenge and having the opportunity to run for Team Xray and the new XB9 platform.

Ruona & Borkowitz win Super Cup Series Rd1

Basher’s R/C Raceway was the site of the 2012 Super Cup Championship Series Spring session race 1 and what a race it was. With 175 entries, tight race course, and plenty of traction the action was plenty. Close lap times, within seconds of each other, made for an exciting event with positions changing in a blink of an eye.

Pro-Line Cactus Classic – Announcement

The 26th Annual Pro-Line Cactus Classic will take place on March 23-25 with the World Famous Scotty Ernst announcing the race. As always, the race will be held at Hobby Town’s Scottsdale R/C Speedway in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona. Hartson wins WCRC Supercross Series Rd3

With the Reedy International Off Road Race of Champions just one week away, Team Associated/Reedy/LRP’s Steven Hartson laid it down in 2WD Modified by taking the TQ and win in round three of the West Coast RC Raceway Supercross Series. Hartson was unstoppable in the main event against many of his Invitational competition and was the only driver to run 15 laps in the main event.

Kyle McBride wins 4th Meakin Masters in a row

The annual Meakin Masters was held at the Meakin Track (The Brick Yard) in Kingston, Queensland, Australia last weekend. Kyosho/Pro-Line racer Kyle McBride hit the track for the first time on Saturday hard with his Kyosho TKI2, setting the TQ pace for the first round. The second qualifier Kyle sets another TQ going 4 seconds faster than the 1st qualifier. The third qualifier Kyle equaled his TQ time setting another 16 lap 10 min 11 seconds. Heading into the Amain the track was extremely hard packed, but polished smooth like wax, so they decided to run M4 Calibers. At the start of the Amain Kyle pushed hard to break the pack, setting into a comfortable lead with his Kyosho TKI2 and would lead from start to finish lapping the field twice and setting the fastest lap of the final.

Silver State Nitro Challenge – Announcement

Southern Nevada RC is proud to present the prestigious Silver State Nitro Challenge which will be held from April 19th to 22nd. The race will be held at the World Famous Boulder City RC Speedway in Boulder City Nevada and is open to 1/8th buggy nitro & electric, 1/8th truggy and SCT 4×4 and 2wd. Strange wins Thursday Night Nats Series Rd 1

LSR Raceway launched their ”Thursday Night Nats series” sponsored by Tekin and BMiller Racing last Thursday with Panther team driver Brian Strange taking the TQ and 1st place in Mod 2WD Buggy with his TLR 22. He used Panther Raptors in pink compound along with pink Bobcats. 3rd place driver Justin Moon was also riding on Panther tires.
