Tessmann TQs first buggy qualifier

In a repeat of his yesterday’s Truggy qualifying Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessmann has TQ’d the opening round of Buggy qualifying at the Dirt Nitro Challenge at the Fear Farm in Phoenix, Arizona.  The Canadian set a pace of 11 laps in 7:33.947 to top the first of three rounds by one & a half seconds over TLR’s Adam Drake and World Champion Cody King.

Maifield is ‘Dirt’ Truggy Top Qualifier

Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield is the Truggy Top Qualifier at the Dirt Nitro Challenge backing up his Q2 performance with another TQ run in Q3 to claim pole position for Saturday’s 1/2 hour final.  The final qualifier saw the US Champion set the pace from team-mate Ryan Cavalieri with TLR’s Adam Drake third.

Tessmann tops Q1 at Dirt Nitro Challenge

Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessmann has topped the opening round of Truggy qualifying at the Dirt Nitro Challenge in Phoenix, Arizona, the 19-year-old setting the pace by just over half a second from TLR’s Adam Drake with Associated’s Ryan Maifield third.  Moving this year to the Fear Farm, this is the 10th running of the signature event of world famous track builder Joey ‘The Dirt’ Christensen with a record 700 entries set to race 4 class on three tracks over the next four days.

Enrique Fuciños wins Spanish 2WD champs Rd1

The first round of the Spanish 2WD electric buggy championship took place on the weekend of the 18th and 19th of February at the great astro turf track of the club CRAEM, near the centre of Madrid. This year’s new format means that 2WD and 4WD are ran separately. The 2WD championship consists of a four round series, while 4WD will only be one single race.

Simon Willets to use Pro-Line tires

CML Distribution announce that Mugen factory driver Simon Willets switched to Pro-Line tires and accessories. The 2011 and 2010 UK BRCA National Series runner-up, one of the most consistent drivers in the UK and Europe, is hoping the switch will improve his chances of a top finish as well at this years 2012 European Championships in Austria and World Championships in Argentina. This is what Simon has to say about the deal:

Chad Due double at Motorama

Thousands of spectators flocked to the 2012 Motorama event watching and participating in everything from motocross to karting to sprints and RC. The event featured two different racing tracks. One was designed for competition among traditional 1:10 offroad vehicles including 2WD buggies, 4WD buggies, and stadium trucks on a clay surface. The other, larger track featured racing for 1:8 electric buggies and truggies along with 2WD and 4WD Short Course. With spectators filing through the event throughout the two-day period, many were witnessing competitive remote-control car racing for the first time.

Drake & Moller wins Rd1 of TLR Winter Series

Round 1 of the TLR Winter Series was this past weekend at Revelation Raceway and the event had 10 heats. TLR, Novarossi, Pro-Line driver Adam Drake TQ’d both rounds of qualifying in the 1/8th Pro Buggy class. JQ was the only other driver to turn 8 laps in qualifying, but was 7 seconds behind Drake.  In the 30 minute buggy final Adam checked out on the field and won by more than one lap over JQ and Drew Moller. Drew Moller would win the 20 minute truck final, Drew and Adam had a good battle until Drake ran out of fuel. Moller cruised to the victory followed by Cody Smith and Adam Drake.

Lee Martin joins Byron Fuels

European Champion Lee Martin has added Byron Fuels to his 1/8th package as he looks to step up his racing with his new factory Mugen drive for the 2012 season. With so many fuels on the market it can become a minefield as to what to select. But with Byron Fuels outstanding reliability, performance and engine protection the choice became a simple one for Lee, allowing him more time to spend on chassis tuning rather than engine set-up.
