Maclan Racing welcome Felix Law

Maclan Racing have announced the signing of Felix Law to their factory team. The US frontrunner and IFMAR Worlds finalist has inked a multi-year and while running Maclan Racing electronics at all major races he will also represent the brand at the track while helping with R&D of forthcoming new brushless speed controllers and motors. Felix has the following to say about the deal:

I’m excited to join the R&D team of Maclan Racing. With the initial testing of the products Willie has to offer, I found their lineup to be focusing on quality & racing needs. With all my knowledge from the past, I will do my best to evolve their product to the next level.

Maxim Laverychev wins Russian double header race

The 2020 Russian Cup and Russian Championship was a double header race that took place at the Lemar Modelsport track recently. Due to the Coronavirus the race wasn’t so well attended, but racing was tight an in the end it was Maxim Laverychev with the win in the Modified Touring classes of both the Russian Cup and the Russian Championship with both races run on the same weekend. Ilya Plakhotnik came in 2nd overall in the Russian Cup while Andrey Samoylenko rounded out the top 3.

Flavio Elias wins at Brazilian GP On-road opener

The opening round of the Brazilian nitro on-road nationals took place in Americana recently. In the 1/8th IC Track class it was multi-time national champion, Flavio Elias with the overall TQ and he also brought home the win in the 40-minute A-main event. Eduardo Dulac came in 2nd overall, some 15 seconds behind Elias as Samuel Prato came in 3rd overall, already some eleven laps down.

Dominic Greiner takes German 200mm title

The MCC Rhein-Ahr club hosted the 2020 German 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring Nationals this past weekend. Capricorn’s Melvin Diekmann took the overall TQ some 0.4 seconds in front of Dominic Greiner with Toni Gruber sitting in 3rd overall after the qualifiers. In the 45-minute main final, that started on a wet track, it was Dominic who would take the win some two laps in front of Shepherd’s Toni Gruber as Thilo Tödtmann (Capricorn) rounded out the top 3 result another three laps down.

Heat of America Series Rd5 – Report

Round 5 of the Heart of America Series was held this past weekend in 1/8th Open, 1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan, and 1/8th GT classes. 1/8th Open would see John Peck with the overall TQ, however it was Jason Reger (Capricorn) with the win in the A-main, some nine laps in front of fellow Capricorn racer, Chris Nichols. Bob Block (Mugen) came in 3rd overall, another three laps down.

EWS Summer Edition race – Announcement

The well-known EWS Essex Winter Series team has announced that the EWS Summer Edition event will return in 2020. Following the delay to racing due to the Coronavirus situation, the event will take place on 5th and 6th September at the Colchester Model Car Club venue in Essex, UK. With classes for Modified Touring, Super Stock Touring and Front Wheel Drive, Saturday is an optional day of practice, with the race event taking place on Sunday. Manzo, Huber & Kroos win at Swiss EP On-road Rd2

Round 2 of the Swiss Electric On-road Nationals was held at the AMCS Schaffhausen club last weekend. The race saw the running of six different 1/10th and 1/8th scale classes and in Touring Modified it was Michele Manzo with the overall TQ from Khounmy Bui in 2nd. In the finals Michele continued to stay on top and with three straight wins he took the overall victory from Philipp Huber in 2nd while Khounmy had to settle for 3rd overall.

Nielsen & Morgan win at Danish Onroad Nats Rd2

Round 2 of the Danish Onroad Nationals was held in Odense over the weekend. The race saw the running of 1/10th Nitro, 1/8th GTE and 1/5th scale gas classes and in 1/10th Nitro Touring it was Rasmus Nielsen who would lead the way to take the win from Claus Ryeskov in 2nd and Lars Bo Larsen in 3rd, all running Xray cars. The 1/8th GTE class had Caspar Morgan taking the TQ and win, leaving behind David Hansen in 2nd and Alex Bremer in 3rd.
