Xray Racing Series Austria – Report

The Xray Racing Series Austria was held at the 1. MRC Wiener Neustadt club in Vienna, Austria recently. Four classes of Touring Modified, Stock 13.5, Stock 17.5 and FWD were offered with the race attracting multi-times European Champion, Jan Ratheisky. In Modified the fight for the victory was between Jan Ratheisky and Patrick Gollner. After a tight four qualifiers Patrick was able to secure all four rounds for the overall TQ from Jan Ratheisky and Sascha Klug. In the opening final Patrick was able to take the victory. However, it became more exciting in the second leg as Patrick made a small mistake and had to give the victory to Jan. Thus, the tension for the third final was even greater. Ultimately it was Patrick who would prevail, taking the win from Jan in 2nd and Sascha in 3rd.

Geneva Model Car Series Rd3 – Report

Round three of the Geneva Model Car Series took place with 40 drivers attending the popular no additive racing series. Both Touring Car 13.5T boosted and Formula classes were run on this time’s short and twisty layout that made for lap times in the mid twelve seconds range. In the Touring Car class it was Bastian de Marco, who took the overall win, in front of Arnaud Soulignac and Walter Pollet-Villard. In Formula, it was Daniel Ghirlanda with the overall win in front of 2nd placed Sylvio Kiesewetter and 3rd placed Chrigu Baeriswyl.

Xray Racing Series Alpe Adria Rd2 – Report

The second round of Xray Racing Series Alpe Adria was held in Zagreb, Croatia recently. The weekend started with practice on Saturday followed by a round of times practice and the triple qualifiers on Sunday. In Touring Stock it was Zeljko Selman with the overall TQ, in 1/8th GT Fabio Callegari came out fastest after the qualifiers, in 1/8th IC Track it was Nejc Mihelic with the overall TQ and in 1/5th TC Marko Grigic put himself on top of the timing sheets.

Campionato Costruttori EP Series Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Italian 3-race Campionato Costruttori EP Series was held at the Gymnasium RC track in Livorno. The Campionato Costruttori EP is a new championship strongly desired by the Italian manufacturers and distributors of the electric racing sector who have joined to allow all racers to have fun in a healthy and constructive manner while racing in a highly competitive field. The series was also chosen by the Italian ACI covering body as a championship to assign Italian national titles, confirming the high level of organisation. This lead to a very high number of sign-ups already for the opening round of the championship.

Schumacher BTCC Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Schumacher BTCC, incorporating the KO GP, took place at the fast Cotswolds circuit last weekend. The series running on Rush control tyres has been greeted with great enthusiasm buy the drivers who have attended, and this round was no different. In the Modified class Olly Jefferies dominated the day running some very fast times. Olly took the overall win from Glen Westwood and Chris Ashton.

Atsushi Hara appointed Neidhart Asian sales manager

Neidhart has announced the signing of 2-times IFMAR World Champion, Atsushi Hara as their Asian sales manager. Hara, who won the 2008 1/8th scale Off-Road IFMAR World Championship title with the Neidhart brand HB Racing, will now take over the position as sales manager for Asia. As such, he will be responsible for the sale of all Neidhart brands in the Asian market. Interested dealers and distributors can reach Hara at atsushi@neidhart.com. Besides his job as sales manager Asia, he will also be involved in the development of new vehicles and electronics for the HB Racing, Team Orion and Performa Racing brands while also attending select local and international events. Atsushi has the following to say about the deal:

I would like to say thanks so much to Mr. Philippe Neidhart, Oscar Jansen and Adrien Bertin for giving me this great opportunity. Also, I am very happy to come back to HB Racing as my “Home.” When I left HB Racing in 2013, I didn’t think I could come back. BRCA 1/8th Circuit Nationals Rd6 – Report

Round 6 of the BRCA 1/8th Circuit Nationals was held at Mendip RC Raceway this weekend. 32 drivers were in attendance in nitro and 7 had booked in electric. The track was nicely prepared and sprayed to ensure grip would be good and consistent. The track was still dusty for practice on Saturday morning but the grip quickly came up under the Somerset sun. It was all about getting good lines and watching tyre wear, which would prove to be a bit of an issue on race day. Sunday started as usual with the drivers’ briefing, during which a minute silence was observed in memory of Dave Waters, former BRCA Chairman, who recently passed away.

Xray Racing Series Singapore – Report

The 2nd running of the Xray Racing Series Singapore took place this past weekend at the Urban RC onroad circuit in downtown Singapore. The event was headlined by the entry of Xray factory driver Alexander Hagberg, who joined his Singapore teammate, Dominic Quek. Singapore’s 2-time IFMAR finalist, Nicholas Lee, also participated, alongside a number of notable foreign entries. A total of 63 entries took to the starting grid, making this one of Singapore’s largest EP events in recent history. In qualifying for the premier Modified Class, the crowd witnessed a close battle by the trio of Lee, Quek and Hagberg, with each taking TQs in Q1, Q2 and Q3 respectively. With 2 of the 4 rounds counting, the overall TQ would be decided only on day 2 of the event when Q4 took place. With intense pressure to secure the coveted TQ spot, it was Hagberg who finished 0.5secs ahead of Quek to secure the pole position start in the finals. Lee would start 3rd.
