The second round of the French Electric On-road Championship was held at the Longvic track over the weekend. In the Touring Stock class it was Pierre Delorme with the win from Briac Berthoud on the 2 spot and Julien Jost in 3rd. Over in the Formula class it was Jeremy Limoges who brought home the silverware from Willy Voisangrin 2nd and Varinard Jean-Michel 3rd.

The Absima Summer Championship was opened with brilliant sunshine and brilliant racing at the Coastal Model Car Club this weekend. A bumper entry rolled through the gates to fight it out for the first round. First up it was the touring cars, and after a scare with a breakage in practice Adrian Dew dominated the results by winning all the qualifiers and finals, although there was some great action for the lead with both Jason Scott and Attila Hadji.

The third round of the Metropolitan Championship was held at the Hernan Matticoli Circuit in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Off-road specialist Nicolas Bregante had one of his few on-road outings and was very fast from the get-go despite missing practice due to work commitments. Counting round TQs in Q2 and Q3 secured him the overall TQ and starting from pole position allowed him to take the wins in the opening two A-mains for the overall. Ezequiel Forgaral ended the day on the runner-up spot and in front of Luciano Capel in 3rd.

Round 3 of the 2019 Urban Touring Series took place this past Sunday at Urban’s rooftop PlaySpace raceway. Despite forecasts of rain, an enthusiastic grid of close to 30 racers turned up to pit themselves against one another in the Touring Car 17.5T Blinky and Formula classes. In the TC Class, it was Nicholas Lee who would take overall TQ by topping Q1 and Q2. Dominic Quek would have to settle for a P2 start in the A-Main. Sean Lee had a great qualifying to snatch P3 from Esmail Apandi who made some uncharacteristic mistakes during his runs. Wee EC and Hasron Robana would take the last two direct spots in the A-main, and would be eventually joined by Sebastian Lee and Chhua Joo Kiah bumping up.

Always held around “Tax Day” in the USA, the Mile High Indoor Championship is a great event held in the Denver area. As one of the last big events of the season, the MHIC is known to introduce or promote something a little different. In 21.5 GT12, a new class that is picking up in popularity after making its National debut at the 2019 Snowbirds, saw CRC’s Charlie Menard taking the title. Denver’s Mario Ficco would take a 2nd place from his TQ starting position. Colorado pilot Jim McGee would round out the all-CRC podium.
Round 4 of the 2019 BRCC N.E.O.S. was held in Puerto Rico last weekend. Raymond M. Soto took the overall GT class TQ after the qualifiers, however it would be Samuel Zayas with the win in the A-main final from Raymond on the 2 spot. Godfrey Franco would round out the top 3 for an all-IGT8 podium.

Shepherd have announced the signing of German 1/10th on-road specialist, Rico Kröber to their team. The former WRC Racing pilot will campaign Shepherd’s Velox V10 Nineteen 1/10th 200mm nitro kit both at national and international events and he has the following to say about the move:
I am proud to be able to start this season for Team Shepherd with my Velox V10 nineteen at national and international races. Already over the winter I was super integrated into the team and already worked out ideas and exchanged experiences. The third round of the 2019 Yokomo Australian Touring Series was held over the weekend at the New South Wales Radio Controlled Racing Car Club (NSWRCRCC) in Moorebank, New South Wales. Set at the beautiful John Grant International Raceway, host venue the IFMAR 1/8 IC Track World Championship back in 2001, the Moorebank facility was the perfect place to host the ATS. Despite lower entries than usual, the racing was fantastic with drivers attending from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and even Singapore with Special guest Nicholas Lee making the trip down under to race in the ATS for the second time. The weekend kicked off with Friday practice, four qualifying rounds on Saturday, and one final qualifier followed by triple finals for all classes on Sunday. With race directing and commentary handled by Christopher Mitchell, the weekend ran smoothly, allowing for some close racing across the four classes on offer.
