Hobbywing sign Bayer, Jefferies & Ratheisky

Hobbywing have welcomed Xray’s Martin Bayer, Olly Jefferies and Jan Ratheisky to their factory team. The three will be running Hobbywing electronics from February with Martin being an important member of the growing off-road factory team while Jan will also be Hobbywing’s trackside support at all major on-road events in Europe.

Martin says:
I am very happy I can join the Hobbywing factory racing team. I tested many products last month to choose what is best for me. After first lap with Hobbywing I know immediately this is what I need. The control feeling is incredible and power delivery is so smooth but in same time I have a lot of power delivered on wheels. I am very happy to represent Hobbywing on all international races and give best support to the customers.

Shepherd welcome Olivier Bultynck

Shepherd have announced the signing of Belgian frontrunner, Olivier Bultynck to their electric on-road team. The multiple ETS winner and podium finisher will have his debut for Shepherd at the second round of the 2016/17 ETS in Mülheim Kärlich. Furthermore he plans to attend all remaining ETS races, the Euros and he tries to defend his Belgian National Champion title. Shepherd are really looking forward to working together with the former Roche driver who had the following to say:

First of all I have to thank Max Ma from Roche for the support he gave me the last season. But i was given a chance to be part of the Shepherd Team for 2017. Being on a strong Team is very motivating and I’m really looking forward to the challenge. I would like to thank Patrick Schäfer and all the staff at Team Shepherd for the opportunity of joining this Company.

Seta doubles at East Touring Series opener

The opening round of the East Touring Series was held at Sunter Speedway, Jakarta, under a cloudy sky with a light rain poured during the race. The event was held in several classes including the premier Touring Modified and Open Mini classes and in TC Mod it was Muhammad Izzah who snatched the TQ spot followed by Arya and Yusuf Zulkarnaen. Bowie Ginting suffered from a lot of issues in the qualifiers and only qualified in fourth. In the Open Mini class it was Arya who took the top qualifying position in dominant fashion.

Myron Kinnard wins at Thunder Jam XI

The Thunder Jam Snowbirds Warm-up was back again to kick off 2017 with its ninth running hosted by Thunder RC Raceway in Nashville, Tennessee. The event has brought in racers to compete for trophies, cash, and the glory. For an event that was created for kids to have their own special race, it has grown over the years to give racers of all ages a chance to win an event. For Saturday, the event would have three qualifiers and AA mains. This is a format that has been used for years and works very well to maximise the time so travellers can get home at comfortable times. Myron Kinnard (Team Associated) was able to lay in a TQ run in the first round of USVTA and he reset that TQ again as the day went on.

Xtreme Aerodynamics welcome Alberto Picco

Xtreme Aerodynamics have announced the signing of Alberto Picco to their team. Alberto has tested and used the Italian bodyshells last year and he will now get full factory support to run the company’s 1/8th scale bodies exclusively for the 2017 season.

FastRace welcome Davide Ongaro

FastRace have announced the addition of young Davide Ongaro to their Super GT factory team. Finalist at last year’s Worlds in Vegas, Davide, who recently joined Team Associated, will campaign FastRace’s R-15 for the popular Super-GT class. Both Davide and FastRace are looking forward to the debut at the Italian Nationals in early March.

Steve Deblaere successful at Lovan Challenge Rd3

The third round of the Lovan Challenge was held at the Velocitatem Arena in Ingelmunster, Belgium this past weekend. In the Formula class it was Steve Deblaere who took the overall TQ after the three rounds of qualifying and he would also come out on top after the triple A-mains as he took wins in all three A-mains to grab the overall victory from Nic Desmet in second and Willy Voisangrin in third.

Jilles Groskamp wins at 2017 Ride Futaba Cup

The 2017 Ride Futaba Cup was held at the Infinity Addict RC Circuit in Bangkok, Thailand, over the weekend. The event attracted both local racers but also international experienced drivers and three of them, Infinity’s Jilles Groskamp, Yokomo’s Nicholas Lee and Atsushi Hara, campaigning a Tamiya at this event, would make up the top 3 result in the competitive Touring Modified class.
