The Pan Am GT8 Grand Prix 2016 was held at the Homestead RC Raceway in Florida over the weekend in the three classes of GT Pro, GT Sportsman and GT Electric. The GT Pro class had Paolo Morganti taking the win in the 45 minute main final some two laps in front of Joaquin Desoto Jr., who took the TQ after the qualifiers. Fabrizio Martello completed the podium result in third while Uriah Murnan and Loran Whiting rounded out the top 5 result.
The Hudy Indoor Championships marked the first large carpet race of the year and it was held at Pro Level Raceway in St. Louis, MO, host of the upcoming ROAR Carpet Nationals. The format for the event was simple with Friday practice, Saturday qualifying and a last chance qualifier and finals on Sunday. Paul Lemieux controlled most of the Modified Touring qualifying and after a clean start in the final was able to pull a good lead on Chris Adams but Chris was not to be denied and came back in the end to finish a very close second, Cody Woods would have a great drive to come to third.

The recent MMR Challenge saw John Witta and Brian Wynn dominating the proceedings in the 1/12th and 1/10th scale pan car classes. John grabbed the TQs and wins in both in the 13.5T and 17.5T 1/12th scale classes while Brian would dominate the rubber tyred World GT-R and Formula categories with two TQs and wins.

F.T. Line have announced the signing of Mark Green to their team. The former Novarossi driver will use the whole line of F.T. Line on-road engines at the biggest events World wide and he also will be a key support and development figure for the Italian manufacturer. Mark had the following to say about his move:
I would like to thank F.T. Engines for this opportunity to race with their great racing engines and with support from DB Engine technology I am sure great results can be achieved for the 2016 racing season and onwards . Also a thank you to Gino Voghera for making it possible to join F.T. Line. I am looking forward to the start of the racing season with the F.T. The second round of the Xray Winter Series Slovenia was held at the technical MSM club track in Maribor. The demanding track layout made for some fun racing and the event started with a round of controlled practice for seeding before the qualifiers started. In the Touring Stock class Jan Popic, Alojzij Osvald and Dario Veseli fought for the top spot with the better end for Jan who took the TQ from Alojzij and Dario. The Formula class saw Andrej Grebenc taking the TQ from Jan Pernarcic and Borut Svoljsak while in the 1/12th scale class Rok Rudl was the man to beat as he secured himself the TQ from Jernej Vuga and Mis Valentin.

Capricorn have bolstered up their 1/10th scale nitro on-road team with the addition of Italian driver Luca Redaelli. Luca will pilot the LAB C03 20omm nitro car in the coming season with a special focus on the World Championships in Gubbio and he has the following to say:
I would like to thanks Patrizio for this oppurtunity and he is very exciting for the incoming season. After a long experience, results and hard work with my previous team Blacktarmac R/C now I decide to start a new season with Capricorn R/C team . Xray team driver and Turkish national champion, Mustafa Alp will hold an Xray Work.Shop at the Team NCRC Arena-Lefkosa on the 30th of January. The workshop will focus on the T4’16 touring car and all participants can try the teached tips and tricks at the following indoor season warm-up race on Sunday the 31st of January, held at the same place. The opening round of the 2016 Serpent GT Cup was held at the TRC race track in Hong Kong with over 70 drivers in attendance. New to the 2016 season is the addition of a Modified class where the drivers are free in terms of engine and tyre chose although the chassis has to remain the standard Cobra GT. The new class attracted a total of 12 drivers with 60 entries for the Stock category. The race schedule of the 1-day event saw three 10 minute qualifiers for the Stock class and a single 15 minute qualifier for the Modified class with the fastest lap counting towards the qualifying results. The A-mains would then be run as a single 40 minute main for the Stock class and two electric-style mains for the Modified category.
