Xray Korea invites all Xray drivers to take part at the Xray Challenge Korea. Taking place at the Kirina Circuit on the 1st of June, the race sees the running of electric and nitro 1/10th classes along a 1/8th nitro on-road class. VBC Racing’s Ryan Maker has TQ’d and won a hotly contested Modified field at the 2014 NSW State Titles at Sydney’’s premier SMA track. Ryan wrapped up TQ in the first 3 rounds of qualifying with his Muchmore-powered VBC D06, ahead of Simon Nicholson and Craig McPhee. Ryan took a close win in the first A-main from Simon and Ari. A mistake by Simon on the 3rd lap of A -main 2 gave Ryan a 2 second gap which he was able to maintain and secure his 2nd NSW State Title. Ryan sat out the last final which saw Simon take the win from Ari Bakla (Xray) and Nathan Reese (Xray).

The Serpent Challenge Slovenia will be held on the 1st of June in Tolmin. The race will be held in 1/10th electric, 1/10th touring, 1/8th track, 1/8th GT/Rally and 1/5th scale classes with a factory driver supported workshop on Saturday while Serpent designer Michael Salven is present for additional support. The 1st round of the ever-popular Summer Shootout Series took place in Chesterfield, UK. These events have become a regular fixture for indoor racers in the UK in recent years and offer the best opportunity to practice and conduct testing on a national standard track with good grip. Once again Action Model Centre are supporting the series this year, which will cater for 1/12 scale LMP12 and GT12 cars as well as GT10. More than 100 drivers made this a capacity event which included drivers of all levels from national winners down to local club racers.

Round 2 of the 2014 BRCA TC Nationals took place this past weekend at the Halifax track situated in West Yorkshire. The Halifax track is the largest track the series attends on the 2014 calendar and horsepower is regarded as a crucial factor in both classes. However, the weather this past weekend was cruel to the drivers with rain descending on the superb Halifax facility the whole weekend. But if we were going to have a really wet national, Halifax with its new covered pitting area was possibly the best venue in the UK to host it. Conditions proved to be very difficult and mixed for drivers in both classes with very little grip and forward drive reported on the wet and greasy surface.

Last weekend the 1/8th EFRA European Championship warm-up was held in Kirchberg, Austria. Beside the 1/8th class a 1/10th 200mm support race was held that had Xray’s Juraj Hudy taking the win from teammate Igor Liptak after both had a nice fight in the final and Igor ran out of fuel due to his prototype FX engine running to rich. Forrai Gabor completed the podium in 3rd position.

Xray’s Mario Spiniello took the win at the Hot Race Trophy run in Gubbio, Italy. Mario also took the TQ and he left his Xray teammates Adami Emanuale and Marco Festuccia behind in the 30 minute final. Daniele Agostinelli and Stefano Neri completed the top 5 result.

The 2nd round of the Alpe Adria Cup 2014 was held in Cervignano, Italy in dry weather conditions although the weather forecast predicted rain interruptions. Jernej Vuga Stendler took TQ in the 1/8th nitro on-road class and later went on to take quite an easy win as 2nd placed Nejc Mihelic made a mistake allowing Jernej to cruise to the victory despite making an additional stop for fuel and running into clutch issues with some 5 minutes to go. In the 1/10 200m touring class Fabio Callegari took the win in front of Vladimir Knehtl and Gabor Laszlo.
