Merril Myers wins @ Blue Diamond Park

Merrill Myers has won the 1/10 touring 200mm class at the 3rd annual Pete Johnson Have a Nice Day memorial Race at Blue Diamond Park. Merrill Myers (Shepard Velox v11) took down the win, sweeping two of the three legs with Mike Keely (Xray NT1) in second, and Irvine Cole (Capricorn Lab-C01) finishing third seven seconds over the TQ driver Juan Amador in fourth. It was a hard fought battle for third and fourth with the position changing many times of the course of the triple A’s. Merrill and Mike couldn’t be touched in first and second respectively.

Moore & Anderson win BRCA TC nationals Rd3

For the second round in succession the BRCA national touring car championship was dominated by bad weather, but coming through the extreme conditions was the Hot Bodies duo of Andy Moore and Ayrton Anderson. In the Super Touring class it was the Associated TC6 of Johnny Aird that took TQ, his first at national level, second place was Andy Moore with Matt White third. Andy kept the TCX on the road while the chasing pack struggled, Andy took all three legs of the A final, second place went to Brian Eldridge, the Top Driver coming from the back of the grid to score his best national result to date, Johnny Aird took the final podium spot with his TC6. Andy Moore now leads the Super Touring class from Chris Grainger and Olly Jefferies with two rounds to go.

Nogueira & Coelho win Portuguese on-road nationals Rd4

Ricardo Nogueira and Bruno Coelho won the recent fourth round of the Portuguese on-road nationals in 1/8 scale and 1/10 scale 200mm respectively. Bruno TQ’ed both classes but it was Ricardo Nogueira (Serpent/Novarossi) who won 1/8 scale after Mugen driver Bruno hit engine problems with 10 minutes to go. This helped Ricardo Costa (Mugen Seiki/Novarossi) to claim the second place with Coelho in third place.

Yannic Prümper joins Thunder Power RC

Yannic Pruemper joins Thunder Power RC

Known throughout Europe as one of the rising stars of touring car racing, 17 year old Yannic Prümper will join 3-time World Champion Marc Rheinard, Viktor Wilck and Thomas Pumpler to represent Team Thunder Power RC. Yannic is relatively new to the top level racing circuit with only a couple years of racing under his belt, this rookie has made all the Pros take notice. Yannic recently raced in the Euro Touring Series (ETS) which finished the sixth round of competition in Andernach, Germany. His skills were well matched to compete among the Pros, as Yannic finished in 3rd place overall for both the race event and ETS series points. Yannic finished just behind fellow TPRC team driver Marc Rheinard and his Yokomo team mate Ronald Volker. “Thunder Power RC will bring a new dimension to my competition level performance. I am looking forward to using the Z3R brushless motors and LiPo batteries.” states Yannic Prumper. “I am excited to be a part of the Thunder Power RC team.”

Burly & Newton win BRCA GT10 & F1 nationals Rd2

The second round of the inaugural BRCA F1 and GT10 nationals took place at Ardent Raceway. In the GT10 class that is closely based on the World GT formula pioneered in the US, Luke Burley took a dominant TQ driving a GM powered Associated 10R5.1. Luke was the class of the field all day leaving Mark Burgess in 2nd on the A-final grid ahead of Jason Butterfield, both also driving Associateds. In the A final Luke cruised to a comfortable win and in doing so almost lapped the entire field. He was followed home by Jason Butterfield in second and Chris O’Donoghue in third position.

Meen Vejrak wins 4th KM Asia Cup Race

KM Racing’s Meen Vejrak has won the 1/10 scale GP touring car class at the 4th KM Asia Cup race at the RC Addict race track in Bangkok/Thailand. He won in front of Suruth V. (Xray NT1) and Surikan C. (Xray NT1) with KM Racing driver Charlee P. (KM H-K1) in fourth position. This was the last KM Asia Cup Race this year with the next meeting, the KM World Cup, is being held one month before the 2012 World Championship at the same place. In the meantime KM Racing in association with their worldwide distributors plan to run several KM Cup selection races to send the best KM H-K1 racer of each of the participating countries to the 1st KM World Cup. Marco Müller wins Swiss 1/8th Rd3

The 3rd round of the Swiss National Championship was held at the beautiful track of Lostallo in the South of Switzerland. Already during qualifying Shepherd driver Marco Müller showed a good performance with his Velox V8 “eleven” taking the pole-position about 1 sec in front of his Shepherd teammate and World Championship finalist Simon Kurzbuch in 2nd. Both drivers had no problems to win their semi-finals while Müller took the pole-position for the 45min final as he had the faster time. At the start of the final Müller defended his first position and increased the gap on the rest if the field step by step. At no time of the race he was challenged and crossed the finishing line convincing 2 laps in front of the Mugen pairing of Luca Martinelli and Silvio Hächler.
