Ty Tessmann takes Rd2 of WCICS

Ty Tessmann takes Rd2 of WCICSWestCanada2

This past weekend Ty Tessmann was at the Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series Race #2 in Lethbridge, Alberta. In qualifying the first round went to Xray racer Wayne Mah, but in the 2nd round Ty upped the stakes to qualify 6 seconds faster, and setting the tone for the weekend. After the 3rd qualifier, Ty’s TQ from the 2nd round still stood. In the 4th and final qualifier Ty’s dogbone twisted off, opening the door for Associated’s Peter Toszer to take the TQ from Ty by 1 second. This set the stage for what would be an exciting main. Peter Toszer, Ty and Wayne Mah pulled away from the field, but Ty was able to come away with the win putting the HotBodies TCX with PROTOform’s MazdaSpeed 6 body in the top podium position, Wayne would take 2nd with Peter finishing 3rd after an unfortunate marshaling incident.

Ardent Raceway Winter Series Rd4

Ardent Raceway Winter Series Rd4

Ardent Raceway hosted the 4th round of their winter series last weekend and with 14 heats lined up it was going to be a long day. In 13.5T Liam Brooks wrapped up not just a comfortable TQ, but a double race win and overall championship victory with 2 races to spare. A simply awesome performance from Liam and his Schumacher Mi4CX. In the 10.5T class James Hart continued his fine form taking TQ, with Sam Clifton an excellent 2nd with his new CX and Dominic Carter in 3rd. Final one was dominated by James with a flag to flag win, the second was a bit more frenetic with Chris Ashton catching James, Sam and Dominic from further down the grid and taking the win. Last minute changes in positions saw James take the overall from Dominic and Sam and Chris, making 3 Mi4CX’s in the top 4. The big boys in the modified class gave the watching crowd some close and entertaining racing. Chris Grainger improved his previous performances lining up 3rd on the grid, with Matt White and John Pape also getting amongst it in the top 10. Andy Moore and Olly Jefferies went at it big time with the 1-2, Chris had a tough set of finals on the hard to pass track and ended up in the midfield.

Volker & Lissau take victory at DHI Cup

Volker & Lissau take victory at DHI Cup

The 11th and final DHI Cup took place last weekend in Odense, Denmark and while some of the big names were missing this year the race was no less exciting. In the modified class it was the seemingly unstoppable Ronald Volker who took the TQ spot ahead of last year’s top qualifier Christer Andersson with Alexander Hagberg lining up 3rd. In the Pro Stock class it was runner up from the ETS in the Czech Republic, Martin Lissau who was top qualifier ahead of Steffen Leinburger in 2nd and Tony Streit in 3rd. The finals were more of the same from the two top qualifiers with Ronald Volker taking his Yokomo BD5 to another win with victory in the first 2 A-mains. The Xray of Alexander Hagberg moved up to the runner up spot with victory in the 3rd leg which demoted the Associated of Christer Andersson to 3rd spot following a difficult last leg. In the stock class Martin Lissau also took victory in the first 2 legs to wrap up victory early ahead of Steffen Leinburger in 2nd with Tony Streit round out the podium in 3rd.
