Mark Green wins BRCA 200mm Nats Rd2

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the British 1/10th gas Nationals take place in Halifax and current national champion Kyle Branson sent us the following report. The weather was good on Saturday with temperatures around 26 degrees, The track had good traction to start with and gradually improved through the day, My car was good at the start but i gradually got understeer and so did Mark Green but he had it worse than me, we seemed to be the only drivers suffering with it, we tried a lot of things but for some reason we couldn’t get the steering back, although the car was still pretty fast by the end of Saturday. On Sunday the car felt better in the first run in the morning but I suffered with a little oversteer which was strange as it had changed from the day before, Mark made some changes in the morning and had made a big improvement in his car. I was TQ in the first qualifying ahead of Mark, in the second Mark got TQ just a second ahead of me in second place and in the final round I managed to improve by just about half a second, this put me one second behind Mark.

Andy Griffiths wins AMC Summer Shootout Rd1

The UK V-Dezign 1/12th scale team continued their dominant form from last winters nationals at round 1 of this summers Action Model Centre supported Summer Shootout series at the home of UK 1/12th scale racing, Chesterfield. Team leader Andy Griffiths dominated qualifying and won every round to TQ by an impressive 6 seconds ahead of newly crowned British and European stock champion Chris Kerswell. Chris was a mere 4 tenths of a second faster than Mark Stiles after the pair enjoyed a very close battle during the last qualifying run. This made it a V-Dezign lockout at the front of the A-final grid. In the A final Andy Griffiths cruised to a comfortable win and eventually lapped up to third place. This will give Andy a real boost and some good form to take to the IFMAR worlds at the end of June. Mark Stiles finished 2nd after a race long battle for the position with team mate Chris Kerswell and the CRC of Mick Farrell. Mick finished 3rd ahead of Chris, with the Corally of Andy Sawyer finishing a very distant 5th. Round 2 of the series takes place on 20th June, just before the drivers head to Germany for the worlds.

Grainger wins Schumacher BTCC Rd2

Grainger wins Schumacher BTCC Rd2

Chris Grainger took round two of the Schumacher BTCC at the magnificent Cotswold track over the weekend. The modified class was dominated by the MI4 of Grainger who took FTD and the overall victory, the day was made sweeter for Grainger’s team as the modified class saw three of the Schumacher cars on the podium, Colin Price was second with John Pape third. In Pro Stock it was another Schumacher 1-2-3, James Hart took both legs of the A final ahead of Lee Price and Mark Musgrove, while in the stock class Zak Finlay won ahead of fellow Schumacher driver Scott Hauser. Many drivers were using the BTCC as warm up for the BRCA national in three weeks time, and with the event held in scorching hot conditions, it did cause a few problems with overheating motors and ESC’c. Drivers may be hoping for slightly cooler conditions in a few weeks time.
