This body is made from crystal clear polycarbonate material for those that prefer to add a personal touch with their own paint and graphics scheme. The convenient pre-cut vinyl decal sheet includes photorealistic headlights, grill, tail lights, official logos, window frames, door handles and more… all die-cut to make applying the decals quick and easy. Overspray film and pre-cut vinyl window masks are included with each body.

HPI Baja 5SC SS29 1/5th SC truck

The 1/5th scale Baja 5SC short course truck from HPI has gotten the 29 treatment. The Baja 5SC SS29 comes as an unassembled kit that you get to build from the ground up. If you enjoy the process of custom building your own R/C vehicles, then this is the kit for you. Its more than just a kit version, it’s packed with extra speed and a long list of option parts. The powerplant has been upgraded to the high performance Fuelie 29s engine, coupled to a high flow aluminum tuned pipe with steel tubular header. Combined with the 8,000 RPM clutch, the Baja 5SC SS29 has some serious grunt to help propel it to speeds in excess of 40MPH. Need to quiet things down a bit? They’ve also included a stock can muffler just in case.

FTW Losi Ten-SCTE carbon upgrade kits

FTW Racing Components launched its line of carbon fibre racing components by introducing three upgrade kits for the Losi’s popular Ten-SCTE 4WD short course platform, a cooling fan kit, a shock tower kit and an Ackerman rack kit. FTW’s cooling fan kit includes a carbon fibre bracket which replaces the center diff brace and suspends a massive 40mm cooling fan over the motor can. The kit can lower motor temps by up to 40 degrees versus the same setup with no fan, producing side effects like increased power, longer run times and enhanced longevity. It includes a JST connector on the fan wire lead and all necessary hardware for installation.

Ross Rhodes wins SC at ROAR Region 5 Champs

This Past Weekend JConcepts Team Driver Ross Rhodes attended the ROAR Region 5 Off Road Championships held at the Proving Grounds Raceway. Ross TQ’d the first round of qualifying in stock short course with his Factory Team SC10 equipped with JConcepts Tires, Wheels, Body and Inserts. The Gold Bar Codes helped Ross and his SC10 hold TQ all through qualifying. Ross got off to a pretty good start in the Short Course A-main, however he would make a couple of bobbles and fell back to fourth. Midway through the 6 min Main Ross found himself in second behind the leader, they maintained the same pace and Ross never had a chance to pass. On the last lap after time expired, going into the back double double the first place driver got the second double a little bit wrong and Ross hit it right and was able to pass him in the last corner for the win.

Munn takes SC title at Northwest Champ’ Tour

Venom Factory Pilot Jesse Munn Wins 2011 Northwest Championship Tour Venom Team Driver Jesse Munn kept up his consistent showings to take the overall points win for the Northwest Championship Tour 2011. The final race, ‘The Columbia Cup’, was held this last weekend in Pasco, Washington and brought out the normal high-level NCT competitors, as well as well-known Kyosho Team Driver, Shawn Dunlap. Munn held off the local drivers and battled closely with Dunlap during the three-day event. Dunlap took the weekends TQ and overall win, but Munn’s strong performance was enough to clinch the overall series title for Mod SC Truck running his Venom Gambler. Munn also took the championship in Mod 2WD Buggy for the third consecutive year.

Lower temperatures result in less fade over the course of a race, longer run times, and increased motor life. Sensored operation results in a smooth and controllable power band with no cogging. A high-torque rotor is supported by dual ball bearings for maximum power output and reliability, while adjustable timing allows for fine tuning for particular applications and tracks. Service is easy and economical thanks to a completely rebuildable design. A choice of four ROAR-approved models means that there is a Sonic 550 motor to suit all tracks and conditions. Available in 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5 versions.

Nathan Waters wins Rd6 of UK SC Champs

The 6th and final round of the Inaugural UK National Short course Championship was held at the A1 Racing Club. From the results at previous rounds, Stuart Harlow with his DESC410R had an excellent chance to wrap up the series win with a good result. Attending their first SC national of the year were Nathan Waters, Adam Skelding and Andy Wesson driving their DESC410R’s. Qualifying was a mixed bag for Nathan and Adam, who both suffered timing issues and lost round scores. After 4 rounds it was Adam who took TQ taking the last two rounds of qualifying with Andy Wesson securing 2nd on the grid with Stuart Harlow and Nathan Waters lining up 3rd and 4th respectively. 7 Durango’s lined up in the A main, showing once again that the DESC410R is the truck to have in 4wd.
