Xtreme Racing Rustler & Slash Speed Chassis kits

Xtreme Racing have introduced their new Speed Chassis kits for the Traxxas Rustler and Slash 2WD trucks. Extending the wheelbase and offering multiple battery layouts – including dual standard-length 2S, 3S and 4S packs – the chassis kits were designed to allow the building of extreme speed racing rigs. Available as carbon fibre or G10 fibre class variants, both include a main chassis, top deck and ESC mount, battery strap holder, battery straps, small and large standoffs as well as steering posts and servo mounts. Not included however are the needed donor Rustler or Slash trucks.

Hobbywing XeRun V10 G3R brushless stock motor

Hobbywing have announced the release of their new XeRun V10 G3R electric brushless stock motor. Building on the proven V10 G3 the “R” variant offers further enhanced performance thanks to a 13.3 percent increase in torque, a 6.5 percent increase in RPM and up to 8.6 percent of overall power gain. In addition the internal resistance could be lowered by 11 percent while efficiency was increased by 6 percent, resulting in greatly reduced operation temperatures. At 139g the motor is also very low of weight – thanks to a highly machined aluminium heat-sink design can – making chassis balance adjustments a lot easier. The ROAR and EFRA spec motor is available in 13.5T to 25.5T stock winding variants with the 13.5T to 21.5T motors utilising a 7-12.5×25.2 rotor with optional rotors being available to fine-tune the motors’ power characteristics.

Arrowmax V2 silicone shock & diff fluids

Arrowmax have introduced their new high-quality V2 silicone shock and differential fluids. The silicone-based oils offer high accuracy for better control over the suspension and drivetrain setup and they are available as 100cSt to 900cSt variants in 59ml bottles, as 250cSt to 700cSt variants in larger 110ml bottles as well as 1000cSt to 2.5Mil cSt in 59ml bottles. All feature new leak-proof bottle caps and the bottles are colour-coded for easy identification.

Pro-Line UDR Hyrax all-terrain tyre

Coming from Pro-Line and made for the Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer truck is the Hyrax all-terrain tyre. Designed from the ground up for exceptional grip and stability on the toughest terrain, the Hyrax tyre is ready to tackle anything the UDR can dish out. The Hyrax features an aggressive open tread pattern with each tread block containing multiple sipes for improved traction. The highly detailed connected tread on the sidewall of the Hyrax extends out for added scale realism and sidewall rigidity to prevent traction rolls. The tyre is made from a special Desert Racing compound for performance and durability and it comes including foam inserts.

Pro-Line Slash 2WD Pro-Arms suspension arm sets

Made for the popular Traxxas Slash 2WD short course trucks are Pro-Line’s new Pro-Arms front and rear suspension arm sets. Available separately for the front and rear of the truck, the sets include cutting edge race-style black arms with smooth bottoms that are capped off with stone-gray stiffening plates resulting in extremely durable arms. The arm plates are held on by multiple flat head screws and the stone-gray color can be dyed or painted to match the truck’s style. The Pro-Arms are direct replacements for the stock Slash 2WD arms and are designed from the ground up to be nearly indestructible. They are also cored out from the top to save weight and the arm plates keep out dirt, mud, and debris. The US-made arm sets are available from now on.

Pro-Line 1984 Dodge Ram 1500 race truck body

Pro-Line have introduced their new 1984 Dodge Ram 1500 race truck body shell for 1/10th scale short course trucks. This classic fleet side truck body features large, full race fenders and iconic styling that will separate the truck from the rest. The popular well-known truck body style dominated the desert racing scene in the mid to late 1980’s and was driven by off-road legend Walker Evans making it the ultimate dream truck to many race fans. The body includes fully licensed Dodge grill, headlight and taillight decals to complete the look and it fits most of today’s 1/10th 2WD and 4WD short course trucks, however some DIY might be needed to fit certain chassis.

ROAR 1/8 EP Off-road & 4WD SCT Nationals – Report

The 2019 ROAR 1/8th Electric Off-road & 4WD Short Course Nationals were held at Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, Virginia this past weekend. The ROAR National Championships is the biggest race of the year and just having wrapped up the 1/8th Fuel Nationals earlier in Hutto, Texas, it was time for the 2019 ROAR E-Nationals featuring most of the same top drivers competing for E-Buggy, E-Truggy, 4×4 SCT, and Masters E-Buggy National championships. Of course, the heavy hitters were in attendance which is always going to make for a good show. This year’s track was hosted by Adrenaline R/C. The layout made use of the track space and was a very nicely put together layout that mixed fun and challenge. The racing was going to be very close on a tight layout like this and the mains definitely showed that. Regardless, the fastest drivers seem to always find another gear when they need it and at this race, the usual suspects were still there.

Kinwald BKlassic – Announcement

The 2019 Kinwald BKlassic will take place from the 18th to 20th of October at Hobby Action RC Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. The race is held in honour of Brian Kinwald with parts of the entry fee being donated to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Southwest Chapter. The race will be held in several 1/10th 2WD, 4WD and Short Course classes as well as a vintage 2WD category. More information can be found on social media here.
