Team Magic G4RS 09 of Raimondo Gilletti

Back in February we brought you the first photographs of the new G4RS 2009 edition (formerly dubbed the G4II) from Team Magic, when we were shown Dario Balestri’s prototype car at the Toy Fair in Germany. Basically in its production form, the car is very similar to the prototype with the exception of some different materials,…

Novarossi 1/10th INS Box & Pipe

For the 2009 season onwards, the 1/10th scale 200mm class requires the use of the noise reducing INS Box. As shown during our coverage of the Toy Fair in Germany last month, Novarossi have now released their IFMAR/EFRA homologated INS Box for competition. Three months in development, the new air filter has minimal effect on the engine performance yet reduces the noise to below approved levels. Also new for the coming 1/10th season, Novarossi’s new tuned pipe fully complies with EFRA regulations (2652) and has undergone extensive testing by their factory team. The new pipe offers improved low end power…

Toy Fair 2009 – Miscellaneous

…also the Kyosho booth, promoting the Evolva M3. The cabin really looks a lot rounder than in the sneak preview images we received in the middle of January and the paint job is also decidedly better. Planet Racing stopped us in the aisles to show us their new back pressure cooler, to become available under their Fast Race brand, which sports a centrally mounted needle to regulate the amount of back pressure. The rest of the system is fairly conventional with fins providing the cooling, as is the case with the other systems on show. Green Power, the in house…

Toy Fair 2009 – Novarossi

Another engine manufacturer getting a make over accross the range was Novarossi, the Italian establishment has upgraded all cooling heads in their Nova line to purple, so no more blue as seen on last years 353, among others. The 353 has also received an upgrade, with a new larger crank pin, and so is no longer the only engine in their .12 line using a unique conrod. The mounting point between the carburettor and crankcase has also been fitted with a plastic isolator and so aims to stop the transfer of heat into the carb and allows them to use…

Toy Fair 2009 – Traxxas

Traxxas had the honour of having the most technology built into one small car with their Summit. This off road basher is powered by a 775 10 turn motor, with space for up to 2 battery packs, and so in normal mode is super quick. Take it off road, and using a switch on the transmitter, it uses a number of its 5 servos to lock the front and rear differential and so can be instantly transformed into a crawler. There were many open mouths at the stand upon seeing this. Other new released include mini versions of their E-Revo…
