RickV wins NK class at Dutch on-road championships

Last weekend saw the 6th and final round of the Dutch 1/8th on-road nationals run at the Raco 2000 track. With Robin d’Hondt, RickV and John Ermen heading the ranking the race would also decide the 2013 championship in the NK class. John just needed a top 4 finish to make the championship while RickV would need to win in order to grab the title. In the first qualifying round John showed to be the fastest but RickV, Gunther v. Staey and Robin d’Hondt all were just 1.5 seconds behind him. Finally RickV did set the fastest time with John Ermen 0.4 sec behind him. John, Robin and RickV later made it through the semi finals with John starting from pole in the main final. Directly after the start Robin d’Hondt lost a C-clip on his gearbox and had to retire. In the 7th minute of the 30 minute final John faced some radio problems and fixing took his team three valuable minutes so RickV could cruise to the win. 7 laps down Frank Baggen and Danny Leewis crossed the finish line second and third respectively. John only came in 6th which handed RickV the 2013 Dutch national championship title. John Ermen finished second overall with completing the season in third position.
