Thunder Power 1S 6800mAh 65C LiPo battery

Thunder Power announce the 1S 6800mAh 65C Advanced Energy Series LiPo battery pack for Oval and 1/12th carpet racing. Made to deliver more power and to run cooler the pack weights 150g and is 2C chargeable. Sporting dimensions of 92.5×46.5×18.5mm it comes with 4mm bullet-type connectors and is available from early October.

Remi Callens wins European Stock TC title

The European Championship TC Stock took place in Alcobenas, Spain. The qualifying was dominated by Remi Callens (Xray) with Serpent ace Jan Asmer hot on his heels. Come the finals Remi was able to conserve his form with fellow countryman Joan Urbain taking the runner up spot. Jan Asmer took third place. Remi’s well deserved win also means the first European electric touring car title for Slovakian manufacturer Xray.

Xray T4 announced

Rumored for some time now is the appearance of a new electric touring car from Slovakian manufacturer Xray. Started in 1999 the T-line of cars is a very successful part of the touring car scene for over a decade now and with the T4 called platform Xray want to mark their spot in the RC history books. Nothing is known yet in terms of specifications but as Xray already released a teaser the official announcement should not be too far away.

Scotty Grey wins Forgass season opener

The 36th Annual Forgass Nitro On-Road Series took place at the Homestead/Miami Speedway. With the temperatures being very hot and humid the first race of the new season was a hard one for the drivers as well as for the material but the extreme conditions didn’t bother Team Shepherd driver Scotty Gray and his newly updated Shepherd Velox V10 “tweleve” who dominated the qualifying. The 30 minutes final began with Scotty starting from pole position and pulled away quickly. With swift fuel stops he was able to further increase the gap and at the end he crossed the finish line in first position. The next race will be held at Nuggets Ranch Raceway in Arcadia (FL) followed by the ROAR Fuel On-Road Nationals at the same place from the 17th to 21st of October.

Mattias Johnasson wins Swedish Summer Series final

The final round of the Swedish Summer Series was held at the Orebro RC Club in rainy weather conditions. In qualifying Mattias Johansson (Xray) was the fastest man in the extreme conditions followed by Andreas Johansson (Serpent), and Morgan Flodin (Xray). In the finals the rain started to cause problems for many drivers with many retirements as the result. In the first A final Mattias Johansson pulled away from the field leaving Eddie Lundin (Xray) and Andreas Johannsen behind. Mattias also went on to win the second leg followed by John Lara (Xray) and again Andreas Johannson. With Mattias having won the first two rounds only the second and third sport on the podium was up for grabs and it was Andreas Johannson who took the runner up spot in the end with John Lara finishing in third place.

Jerome Sartel wins French Champs final round

Jerome Sartel has won the final round of the French 1/8 off-road championship held in Savigny. The Agama driver won the final two laps ahead of Tony Robin (Kyosho) and some three laps ahead of third placed S-Workz driver Edouard Hugon. 2012 champion Jerome Aigion finished in 8th position.

Saggers & York win HNMC Summer Rd 8

The last round of the HNMC Summer series finished as it started with a dry start due to turn with about lunch time. 58 Buggies and 10 Truggies braved the conditions as again the Proline layout was used. Qualifying saw a battle between Karl Jackson and Callum Niblet with Karl taking TQ in the buggy class. Jon Hazelwood dominated Truggy qualifying just missing out a 9 lapper in round one. Come the finals Tom Saggers went on to win the Buggy class ahead of Olier Curry and John Niall. Rob York grabbed the win in the Truggy class with Harry Philips in second and Simon Miller in third position.
