Muchmore Impact LCG Max-Punch 4300mAh LiPo pack

Muchmore have expanded their range of high-performance LiPo batteries by the new Impact LCG Max-Punch FD2 4300mAh 2S pack. Measuring 95.8×46.8×22.5mm and weighing it at 192g the battery is of a low-profile design while the high-performance 120C cells make for exceptional power output in modified and stock classes. The hardcase battery utilises standard 4mm bullet-type connectors and it will hit stores very soon.

Laverychev & Koshcheev win Russian 1/8th Buggy titles

The 2017 Russian 1/8th Buggy National Championship was held at the RCRacer Krylo track in Moscow. Practice and qualifying would be held in hot weather conditions but the final day brought a lot of rain which left the drivers with lots of questions in regards of tyres and setup. In the Nitro class the race for the win was on between reigning Champion, Maxim Laverychev and two-times national title holder, Nikita Pomogaev. The two would battle until the checkered flag but Nikita ran out of fuel only metres before the line, allowing Maxim to take the win from Nikita 2nd and Stanislav Glebov 3rd.

O.S. Speed B21 Ty Tessmann II off-road nitro engine

Coming from O.S. Engines is the new Speed B21 Ty Tessmann II nitro off-road engine. The square stroke power plant follows hot on the heels of the recently introduced 110% long stroke engine and it is based on the World Championship winning B2101. It features a 5.8mm venturi insert and different from the original B2101 the Ty Tessmann II has a reshaped low-profile cooling head, of Ty’s original design, with double height vertical fins. The B21 Ty Tessmann II is available separately or including the new 90mm manifold and T-2090SC exhaust.

Southern Summer Payout Series Rd4 – Report

The fourth and final round of the Southern Summer Payout Series was held at Thornhill Racing Circuit. The series travelled across the three states of Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. With Thornhill having a new turf track, after weather destroyed the previous covered clay track, the challenge would be how to handle the extreme rise in grip from the previous events. To this added an extremely high temperature, making the day a challenge for man and machine. The podium in the 2WD Stock class went to Austin Jeffries from Daniel Grobe and Jordan Born and in the overall points series it was again Austin who took the winning honours from Daniel while Steve DeArmon completed the overall top 3 result.

Ronnefalk tops first seeding round in Sweden

David Ronnefalk has topped the first of the two rounds of seeding practice at the 1:8 Offroad European Championships in Sweden.  The HB Racing driver would become the first driver to run a sub 2-minute time for their fastest 3-consecutive laps around the Gröndal Ring track with yesterday’s Free Practice pace setter Elliott Boots his closest challenger. Improving on his sudden finding of speed in yesterday’s final practice, Juan Carlos Canas would complete the Top 3. With some of yesterday’s pace setters struggling this morning, Darren Bloomfield 12th and Yannick Aigoin 9th fastest, P4 would come from João Figueiredo followed by fellow Portuguese driver Carlos Durães with Italian youngsters Riccardo Berton and David Ongaro 6th and 7th respectively.

Wataru Takashiro TQs & wins Nitro Shock Race

The recent Nitro Shock Race was held at the RC Land 23 track, home of this year’s JMRCA All-Japan Nationals. Kyosho’s Wataru Takashiro would take the overall TQ after the qualifiers and he also came out fastest in the 30-minute main final. Yusuke Sugiura came in a close 2nd while Kazuya Tanaka in 3rd rounded out the all-Kyosho podium.

Imbue introduce MBX7R brass & alloy option parts

Imbue, known for their popular brass shock absorber pistons, have introduced a handful of option parts for the Mugen MBX7R buggy. First up is the brass +20g C-block. The option part is aimed at making a driver’s race day much simpler as, instead of fiddling with weights, the weighted C-block makes it more of a fit and forget upgrade. The part is usable with the original suspension inserts and at +20g of weight it is the choice of top Mugen racers.
