Adam Fikri wins at Lap Paradise Off-road League Rd1

The opening round of the Lap Paradise Off-road League was held at Lap Paradise RC Raceway in Ulu Tiram, Malaysia last weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class it was Danny K. with the overall TQ, however his strength after the qualifiers would not stand as he suffered a DNF in the 60-minute main final, making way for JQ Racing’s young Adam Fikri who brought home the win from HB Racing’s Ben Panic on the 2 spot, some 14 seconds behind Adam. Terrence Lim (SWorkz) would come in 3rd place, some three laps down.

Brilliant RC Magic Pipe Protect

Brilliant RC have introduced their new Magic Pipe Protect, a product to keep polished exhaust pipes nice and shiny. 2019 Scottish GT Regionals Rd1 – Report

The first round of the 2019 BRCA Scottish GT regionals took place last weekend at Dundee and Angus Radio Control Car Club. This popular series is now in its sixth year of running and this year saw the biggest entry so far with 35 cars on track. The regional series is typically run on smaller club tracks so heats and finals are run with six cars to give the best racing possible. The Dundee club laid a fast and flowing track and with four rounds of qualifying and three finals for all, drivers had plenty of time to show what their cars could do. Qualifying saw a five way battle for the front with previous series winners Andrew Edwards and John Simpson and last year’s 3rd and 4th placed drivers, Kenneth Rogers and Graeme Dick being joined by a hard charging Allan O’Brien. All five drivers were split by seconds with Allan eventually winning out and lining up on pole by half a second from John Simpson with Andrew Edward in 3rd.

Exotek roll out new X1 & F6 optionals

Coming from Exotek are several new option parts for the Xray X1 and Team Associated F6 formula car kits. First up is a rear carbon fibre spool axle, usable on the X1 and F6. The extra lightweight carbon fibre and 7075 aluminium clamping spool set utilises a 1/4” rear axle design such as for the X1, F6 and also the Roche cars. The spool helps eliminate “diffing out” of the rear pod on extra high grip black carpet conditions and gives the car more corner exit speeds. The spool also greatly reduces the weight compared to a gear diff or standard ball diff for a cooler running motor and increased acceleration. The sturdy design eliminates any holes in the shaft for increased shaft durability and the spur gear mount keys directly into the supplied right side wheel clamp and makes for easier gear swaps as well. Also the right side wheel clamp uses 2-screws-style clamping which requires less force on the screws for better clamping force. The conversion requires a standard pan car ball diff type spur gear and the standard left side clamping hub.
