The first ever event Red RC covered was the 2007 1:10 Nitro Touring Car European Championship in Madrid, Spain. The class was still the new kid on the block and there was plenty of hype about the category. Xray have today unveiled the 2023 edition of their 1:10 nitro touring car chassis the NT1. A big year for the nitro touring car class with the World Championship coming up in November in Thailand, the car features an all-new chassis with narrowed front suspension pivots to increase stability & traction. Hard composite suspension arms combined with the improved central chassis flex keeps the suspension geometry stable while the flex is transferred through chassis and radio plate to maintain traction. Power HD has announced the signing of top British driver Kyle Branson to their team. The multiple IFMAR and EFRA finalist, and Vice World/European champion will be using Power HD high-end low profile S15-X servo in his Xray X4 touring cars and S15 servo in his Nitro NT1 cars in major races for 2022, including 1:10th IFMAR ISTC world championships, EFRA 1:10th EP/GP championships along with all BRCA Touring car nationals and other major events. Xray have announced that one of the UK’s top onroad drivers, Kyle Branson is joining their Factory Team to race the X4 and NT1 platforms. …the the 1/10 nitro class, a lot of drama unfolded already from the start of the race. The pole sitter, Alessio Agostinelli flamed out on the starting line. A few crashes and technical problems affected other drivers in the field, which meant that Alessio soon could fight his way back to the top. SRC have introduced their new battery plate with integrated brass weights for Xray’s RX8 and NT1 nitro on-road kits. The super light cars still have a margin even under the new EFRA rules thanks to lightweight transmissions and materials. With SRC’s battery weight set additional weight is placed as low as possible while allowing to fine-tune the weight balance by shifting the weights forth and back. Xray have introduced their new NT1 2021 1/10th scale nitro on-road kit. The next generation of the 2-time IFMAR World Championship winning platform is of an all-black design, doing away with the signature orange design of it predecessors, leaving only some shock parts and details in the company’s house colour. New for the 2021 version is also an updated 2-speed carrier that features a heatsink design for more consistent shifting while the new lightweight drive flange lowers the drivetrain’s rotational masses.
