2017/18 Xray Racing Series Poland – Announcement

Xray have announced the dates of the Xray Racing Series Poland for the 2017/18 season. The on-road series will kick off on the weekend of the 23rd of September in Scinawka Srednia with the final round being held on the 10th of March 2018. Classes run will be Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Formula and more information can be found here and here.

Protoform LTC-R & Mazdaspeed6 Pro-Lite body shells

Coming from Protoform are the new Pro-Lite versions of the popular LTC-R and Mazdaspeed6 190mm touring car body shells. 15 percent lighter than a lightweight Protoform body both will further enhance the overall performance of a car thanks to a lowered centre of gravity and the possibility to adjust the car’s weight balance using chassis weights thanks to an overall lower weight. Like all other PF bodies these two come with overspray film, window masks and decal sheets.

Speedzone introduce new modified & stock BL motors

Speedzone have introduced their latest brushless motor based on months of testing and previous customer feedback. This latest motor is the most powerful, efficient, tunable and lightweight motor ever offered by Speedzone. The motor’s can was built to allow maximum air flow, keeping temperature cool and the motor efficient. The stator was designed to produce the very best resistance while being as light as possible without sacrificing performance and power. In addition, the sensor board was built with strict tolerances which now translates to evenly distributed sensor board numbers. A variety of spec and modified turns are available and they are bench tested to ensure sensor, stator and ball bearings are all functioning to a strict quality control. Optional spec and modified rotors will be available for tuning to various track surfaces and conditions.

Protoform ’68 Mustang body & VTA wheels

Protoform have introduced new parts for VTA racers in the form of the 1968 Ford Mustang body shell as well as new VTA wheels. Starting with the body shell, the Mustang sports the signature fastback roofline, an aggressive stance, the iconic hood and pillar vents, and it is made using the latest molding technology to form the body from single piece of polycarbonate. This does away with the usual add-on front or rear clips to assemble, making for a lighter and more rigid body. The Mustang meets all VTA class rules, it comes with a detailed decal sheet, protective overspray film and window masks.

Samix CFX-series brass spring retainers

Coming from Samix and made for the CFX-W and CFX trucks are brass spring retainers. Machined from high-quality material and coming in a black/golden 2-tone finish, the spring cups weigh in at 15g for all four which adds valuable weight to one of the lowest areas of the car, improving climbing performance and looks. Additionally the rigid material makes for a more secure spring fitment compared to the standard plastic parts. The spring retainers come in sets of four and they are available now.

Arrowmax Cup Malaysia Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Arrowmax Cup Malaysia was held at the Kota Raja RC Arena in Klang, Malaysia. The event attracted 50 entries for the three classes of Touring 13.5T Boosted, Touring 13.5T Blinky, and Formula. The premier 13.5T Boosted category saw the battle between Wong Kok Wai and Michael Lo for the TQ spot from the get go, with the two drivers being the only ones to dip into the 15-seconds laps. For the 13.5T Blinky class it was Dino Sidhu who set the pace with 16-seconds laps while in Formula it was Eric Ang who lead the proceedings. Finally the TQs went to Wong Kok Wai in Boosted, to Dino in Blinky and Eric in Formula.

Yuki Model digital battery capacity checker

Coming from Yuki Model is the new digital battery capacity checker. Usable with all batteries or balance wires that utilise JST EH or XH balancer ports, the battery checker is able to display the overall battery or single cell voltage of Lithium-based 2S to 8S batteries while also telling about the remaining battery capacity, highest/lowest voltage and voltage differences. Additionally the device is usable with 2-cell to 4-cell NiXX packs and it includes balancer and discharge functions beside a servo and ESC tester.
